Tavi Cola | ‘Slide’, Brooklyn Rapper With A Story To Tell
Today we’re giving you a glimpse of great music intertwined with the success of an artist who pulled himself out of low times. In 2006, Brooklyn Rapper Tavi Cola got locked up for 8 years. He described to Rap Fiesta how growing up in Flossy and Brownsville taught him how to survive under pressure, and how to apply it. In regards to what he learned in prison he this golden nugget to offer.
‘My 8 years in prison taught me patience, to stay ready, and that nobody is who they think they are. The quiet ones are the ones who have shit to say worth listening to.”
He didn’t let that stop his his dreams and aspirations. When he got out in 2013, he told Rap Fiesta,
‘When I first got out of jail, I came home to nothing. I was so focused on getting money to catch up to my peers.’
It was exactly this time that a family member believed in Tavi, and purchased studio equipment to get him on his feet. This is where his dreams began, and here is where his dreams continue.
‘Slide‘ by Tavi Cola is an 808 heavy and aggressive press to people who dare challenge his come up. His bars are direct, and are aimed right at his opposition. It’s a clear message to everybody watching that Tavi isn’t afraid of any confrontation, he embraces it. In the music video, he’s clearly in his element rattling off hard-hitting lyrics while dancing profusely. It look’s like all that studio equipment paid off.
Since then, Tavi has a list of notable accomplishments, most notable being that he is the CEO of Ghami Life Ent. and clothing. In addition, Tavi is an avid performer. He’s performed at live club events & high schools all over Atlanta. It is worth mentioning as well, that in addition to ‘Slide’ Tavi has another single making waves titled ‘Extendo Clip‘ that dropped in 2016. He also released ‘Bag‘ with Coca Vango that opened up many doors for him.
