Fortune | ‘Rag$ 2 A Fort’, New York Influence
Rap Fiesta is never sick of showcasing New York talent, and we can add Fortune to that list of revolutionary artistry. With the release of his latest album ‘Rag$ 2 A Fort‘, his aim was to provide that Canarsie Hip-Hop feel in its glorious grittiness. Ever the wholesome rapper, he has big aspiration to create his independent empire and share that wealth of knowledge to artists who willfully sell their souls to labels immediately. Fortune knows what happends behind the scenes, and he sheds light with authentic Hip-Hop on ‘Rag$ 2 A Fort’.
I’m not from Texas, but I got that Long Horn
He opens the 11 track album up with stringy chord production and a heartfelt crooning that instills a Bone Thugs N Harmony type feel. With ‘In My Feelings’ he is unafraid of showcasing his vulnerabilities in a fashion that is laced with smooth bars. It’s almost as if Fortune has the innate ability to pick his pockets like a thief, and enter the right flows as warranted.
The reason this project is so interesting is due to its versatility. With the intro track playing on a somber vibe, he switches the trajectory on ‘Flying High Riding High’. With carefully sprinkled auto-tune and melodies that channel a T-Pain inspiration, this track brings a feel-good vibe into fruition. The chorus is absolutely astounding and creates the aura of living life to the fullest. His lyrical content on this joint is simply about enjoying the simple pleasures and basking in that feeling.
Another favorite off of ‘Rag$ 2 A Fort’ is ‘Movie’. He controls the bouncy trap instrumental like a matador containing a raging bull. He lets off bar after bar and snaps off brazenly. With a mouthful of syllables packed in to almost every bar, it’s sure to please your ear. If you got the AUX and want to get people jumping, this is your go to. From production to vocal delivery, this one provides value across the board.
All in all, the Queens rapper did justice with his latest offering, and we’re excited for Fortune to deliver on his promise of continuous content. We were thoroughly entertained on this end, and you will surely be to.
