W R E C K A | ‘Win’, Gritty & Full Speed
A beat-maker first, W R E C K A’s production prowess really shines on his track “Win.” W R E C K A had no intention of easing anybody into this track. He honey-badgered it from the start; full-speed, a nice amount of attitude, and a nasty, gritty undertone. Something I really love from skilled producers and experienced artists is when they can pull off removing the bass for a couple really hard-hitting bars, and then throwing it back in for emphasis. This adds extra attention and importance to the bars the artist is spitting because the spotlight is on them completely, and they can really make an impression with a few slick lyrics. W R E C K A executed this with ease.
“I all-day you, then I call later. Got short-comings, need tall paper. Tryna’ eat, need five platters. I’m an activist; green lives matter.”
W R E C K A’s pen game is refined and fresh. His vocabulary is impressive, and W R E C K A swerves on basic lyrics and rhymes in favor of fresh, multi-syllabic ones. I really love the novelty. His delivery is strong as well, as is fitting for somebody with 15 years of experience in the booth and 7 years behind a mic. Confidence is really the word that comes to the forefront of my mind when listening to W R E C K A. I can tell he’s a firm believer in his musical talents, and I’m positive that self-assurance is the reason W R E C K A has been able to persevere in the past, and why he will continue to do so in the future.
“I’ve had a lot of valleys in my artistic journey, so I can only imagine my peaks having the opposite feeling. That “WIN” feeling.”
This is a man who knows he’s going to win. W R E C K A has already dealt with valleys so there really is nothing to be afraid of. He knows they are an inevitable part of anyone’s journey, and he also knows he has the tenacity required to overcome them. This is exactly the kind of confidence that shines through on his track “Win.” He already knows the “before the WIN” feeling. Now he’s ready for a taste of the good stuff.
A Kansas City native currently representing Shreveport, Louisiana, W R E C K A is getting ready to launch his new website Trillbune.comand his album “Trillbune” is set to premier on September 21. Stay tuned, Rap Fiesta.
