Gee Get Money | Icy ft. Yung Joc
Gee Get Money, rapper and recording artist from Cicero IL, is back at it again making waves all over the internet. This time, Gee has rocked the airwaves with Atlanta legend Yung Joc for their bone-chilling new track, “Icy.” Between the records witty lyricism, catchy hook, and captivating production, “Icy” has all the makings for a hit record.
Gee wastes no time showing off his vernacular prowess, spitting bar after bar in a clever fashion. Every line seems to make you drop your jaw and smile with awe as Gee murks the beat with no mercy. This record has a perfect mix of hard lyrical sub-context with a comical tone, as Gee frequently centered captivating symbolism around the theme of “Ice.” Some of this comedic yet clever tone was exhibited in the following lines:
“…So cold you can feel the breeze.
Got me feelin’ like I’m Mr. Freeze.
Antarctica, that’s on my sleeves.
Polar bears even fuck with me…”
Puns like this are staggered throughout the entire record, and it’s a perfect compliment to the beat underneath it. The 808s in this record are everything you’d want to hear out of a record in this vein. Perfectly mixed with the hats and snare, they make the low end slap to perfection. The piano and subtle synth lines that run throughout the record are fitting, and Yung Joc, along with his vocals and cameo, are truly the cherry on top of the cake.
