Fairview Treezy | ‘Freestyle’, Alaska Hip Hop
What does Alaska Hip Hop sound like? Rap Fiesta may have found the answer, and it lies within the rapper named Fairview Treezy. Fairview Treezy is a 21-year-old artist from Anchorage, Alaska. Born in Louisiana, Treezy moved to Alaska as a child and was raised in the Fairview area of Anchorage. He is the first artist to make an impact independently from Alaska. When we think of rap we think of New York, Atlanta, and California. No artists come to mind when the state of Alaska is brought up. Fairview Treezy aims to change this and put Alaska on the map.
He has a strong local following with packed shows and seats full of kids rapping his lyrics word for word. Treezy’s track “Freestyle” has over 100,000 streams on Spotify and is a runaway hit. The track features a high pitched sample reminiscent of early 2000s Dipset and an extra loud 808 baseline. Treezy uses short bars and clever wordplay to mold his sound.
I’ve been thinkin’ way outta my element
They was speakin’ the smoke I’m inhalin’ it
Boy we know you a b*tch you just terrible
She was eatin’ my d*ck like an edible.
He plans on taking over the industry like Drake and Lil Wayne. Treezy’s influence from both artists is apparent from his confident delivery and clever bars. Rap Fiesta can’t wait to see what Fairview Treezy has to show the world for the rest of 2020. Stay up to date with the Alaskan rapper by checking out his Instagram, here.
