AOS | Philly Hip-Hop Group Stealing The Scene
It’s time for the Philadelphia Hip-Hop scene to be recognized for artists other than Meek Mill and PnB Rock. With that said, AOS is freshly minted as the newest and most interesting Hip-Hop group in the region. They are made up of 3 members- Mark Larron, Ayoflip & the most interesting of all, an 8-year-old rapper named JLYRIC$. It’s not every day you see an 8-year old competing lyrically in the game, but with 2 veteran rhyme spitters in Mark Larron and Ayoflip, AOS is in good hands. In 2019, AOS was formed with the ideology of cementing a legacy that embedded in inspirational Hip-Hop. With everyday experiences stimulating the song catalog of AOS, and the individuality that each member built their foundation on, the potential around the group is buzzing.
Some naysayers might say that the fact that they have an 8-year-old in the group, might be a reason to not take them seriously. Make no mistake, that 8-year-old rapper, JLYRIC$, sounds better than half of the rappers in the industry right now. And he’s not even a teen. The potential for this group is absolutely scary when keeping that in mind. With two established veterans in Mark Larron, and Ayoflip leading the charge, AOS will surely be a household name for years to come.
The greatest wrinkle in the group lies in the ability that each artist is already established. Mark Larron is currently finishing up his solo project ‘Under Dawgs’, and it’s his first solo project in 7 years. That’s almost as long as JLYRIC$ has been alive, and Rap Fiesta knows it’s going to be fire. We had the chance to ask Mark Larron about ‘Under Dawgs’ and he had this to say,
I’m excited about the growth I’ve shown. I’ve struggled with consistency in my career as a artist due to unfortunate life events, lack of motivation, and funds. Now I’m on a roll and I have about 4 projects ready to record. – AOS member, Mark Larron
On the other side of the veteran duo within AOS, is Ayoflip. Its project after project with these two, and Ayoflip is about to debut ‘We Ain’t The Same’ at the end of the summer in macho fashion. When asked about the album, Ayoflip was not shy in reiterating the meaning behind the meaning within it.
The album debut will show just how different I am as a person. I can really say that I don’t know anyone out there that’s like me. – AOS member, Ayoflip
Last but not least is the youngest member of the group, JLYRIC$. With the heart of a lion and bars that cut like steel- his newest single ‘Be Free’ is highly anticipated. He’s not the type of rapper who needs to rely on the group, and it’s clear after checking his music he can hold his own. We were lucky enough to grab a quote from the star-studded member of AOS, and he had this to offer,
My music helps to explore the mind of a kid in these times we’re currently in, and with the current events taking place in the world (COVID19, BLM Movement) having to finish up 3rd grade from home, and exploring life while quarantining. – AOS member, JLYRIC$
JLYRIC$ unleashing his newest single isn’t the only piece he will be tackling. He’s also featuring on the censored version of the AOS ANTHEM which will be released by the end of July 2020. With Ayoflip dropping records like ‘Bond’, he showcases his melodic whip with fury. That latest release deploys a plethora of flows and is bound to fancy your ear. They got the melody game on lock with Ayoflip, and the bars in good hands with songs like ‘Young A.I’ from Mark Larron. We absolutely love the verses he kicks and the home town tribute to the Philly legend Allen Iverson in proper fashion. With these 3 at the helm of AOS, Rap Fiesta is excited to see what’s next.
