Jay Fetti | “West Sider”
Today on Rap Fiesta we’ll be shining light on another artist who’s got the technicalities of rap down-pat: Jay Fetti. Aside from laying out bars about his several accomplishments, work ethic, bling, and drip, he also taps into a melodic cadence to speak on the cycles of love/life. His recent single, “West Sider,” gives Jay room to take in all the blessings he’s received since topping the charts.
On “West Sider,” Jay Fetti oscillates between a melodic auto-croon and bouncy rap delivery. From a lyrical standpoint, the musician boasts about his lavish lifestyle, adding that his diamonds dance like Michael Jackson. As the song continues, Jay speaks about his hometown. “I’m from the Westside, you know what it is. I get my chips and dip,” he spits. Jay also unveils that he carries a certain charm that attracts the ladies. But he’s mainly focused on stacking up his cash. “Digital dash. You know I came with the cash. Racks on racks,” Jay raps.

Before the song closes, Jay takes the time to reemphasize that he’s well-known in the industry and worked hard to get where he is now. One notable line from “West Sider” goes: “You get the picture, that’s Mona Lisa.”
The production in “West Sider” is akin to a Latino-trap one. But it’s mainly led by a harp loop.
