Devincii | ‘Like Dis’, Colorful Visuals, Cali Tunes

From Sun Valley, California, artist Devincii brings in a heatwave with his summer track, “Like Dis.”  Released May 26, “Like Dis” immediately grabs your attention with deep (but not over-bearing) bass and a catchy hook that will have everyone dancing, swayin n bobbin to the beat.  Music is often our escape and this up-beat song immediately pulls you in, leaving all worries behind.

Inspiration for the track came partly from Texas artist, Splurge.  Devincii appreciated the style of the “Backwoods” rapper and quickly went to work.  When asked about it he explains,

‘I was listening to an artist named Splurge when I got inspired to make a song similar to his style but with my own [up-beat] twist on it.’ – Devincii

Although this trunk rattler comes correct with the hard and heavy 808, it pairs nicely with Devincii’s smooth vocals and clever rhyming. The visual is straight eye candy as well, with beautiful women flooding the scene and colorful editing captivating your attention throughout.  With true versatility, “Like Dis” is a perfect windows-down-cruiser, jammer at the backyard BBQ, or it could be the next viral Tik Tok “dance challenge.”  Whether you’re a fan of the platform or not, Tik Tok’s impact on the music industry is undeniable, bringing small-time artists out of obscurity and straight to the top (of the charts) literally.  Social media has always been an invaluable tool for artists and musicians alike and Devincii is on his way of cracking the code to viral success.

The beat for “Like Dis” was created with the help of a Producer named KAPPA.  Devincii and KAPPA initially met online and over the course of a few months they developed a friendly relationship and have since collaborated on other mixes and projects.  With approximately three years in the music game, its clear Devincii is finding his lane and with confidence.  He has a great tone and his lyrical talents are evident with each verse on this colorful record.  With Devin as his birth name, it seems fitting he decided on artist name Devincii, as he word paints illustriously on this bay area knocker and was inspired by the great Renaissance legend of Leonardo da Vinci.
