Shino Benji | ‘Game 4 The Price of Priceless’, Bronx Tales
Shino Benji is blazing the Bronx, NY scene with his latest album “Game 4 The Price of Priceless”. The 14-track album was conceived with an array of vibrant energy & influential moments. Having been a big fan of fellow New York legend Nas’s Illmatic, Shino Benji took that influence and intertwined his skills with modern Hip-Hop ties. This project is the accumulation of an avid Hip-Hop listener’s dream. You’ll encounter head-scratching punch lines on tracks like ‘For The Culture’, and then get hit with the pop-trap rap on ‘Prison Pigeons’. He’s got something for everybody on this album, and that’s the key to unlocking the masses.
Shino Benji wastes no time getting into the heart of “Game 4 The Price of Priceless” with “Quarantine qualified”. The pandemic bars on this carry high relevancy to the trialed times the world is enduring. You can tell that based on Shino Benji’s demeanor he’s had to encounter his fair share of hardened moments. His verses hit dirtily and have a raw, authentic slither along with the production. On “For The Culture”, he switches the style and shows versatility. His aim is to further along with the standard of what quality Hip-Hop is, and this latest record is setting the bar.
With positivity invigorating the life of the album, “Love Your Body” is the epitome of upliftingness. On this record, Shino Benji focuses on building his lady up & empowering her to enjoy the life she’s given. It’s always great to witness a rapper who focuses on important topics that are geared toward improving the lives of those who listen. Body insecurity is a huge issue in today’s social climate, but under the lens of Shino Benji, every woman is beautiful & that is inspiring to see.
With prowess in singing & the lyrical ability to slaughter a beat with confidence, his combo powers are never more apparent than on the transitions between “Movie” and “Sincerely Shino”. He glazes the beat with silky vocals in the latter and then absolutely merks “Sincerely Shino” with conscious thought. His natural ability to measure his cadence proper against every beat stands out candidly. On this record, in particular, he collectively gathers a culmination of autobiographical thoughts & word weaves through the snappily moving instrumental.
If you need a record to kick your starters into high gear than we’d highly advise “On Me”. The way Shino approaches this feels like a classic. The point being, he’s got a ton of bangers laced throughout “Game 4 The Price of Priceless” & this one might be the highlight of them all. That’s saying a lot. He’s unafraid of grabbing a beat by the horns & displaying his arsenal in full fashion. The synchrony of his verses contrasts beautifully with the higher-octave loosely sung chorus on this track. We’re constantly surprised with his versatility on each passing record, and to add pack to punch, there are no features on this album. Every record is full Shino Benji in final form giving us all a product to enjoy thoroughly & vibe hard to. We got the chance to ask Shino how the album came to fruition & how a name as hard as Shino Benji was given life. He told Rap Fiesta,
My stage name is me showing my love to my favorite movie “New Jack City”… I took the n off nino and put the first letters from my shaye on it so it made Shino…. and the Benji part is from start sayin “keep it a hunnit”
But I used Benji cause Benjamin Franklin on the hunnit… – Shino Benji
With more on the way to be excited about, this project is sure to hold you down & shake the subs. Shino Benji has a high powered visual on the way, but until then “Game 4 The Price of Priceless” will have to keep your company & assist in your enjoyment.
