Madison Jay | “The G’z”, Big Moves In Motion
Recently featured in September’s XXL Magazine, whose cover displays their “2020 Freshman Class,” Madison Jay is making major moves in the rap game. Reppin Raleigh, North Carolina, the seasoned vet has been hard at work dropping 5 music videos in the past five months alone. Having been featured in several notable publications like The Source, Hip-Hop Weekly, Respect. Mag, and WorldStar Hip-Hop, it’s no surprise he’s been called one of the most consistent artists out of North Carolina.
From his latest album, ‘DIASTEMA,’ the most recent video drop for his single, “The G’z,” was out on Youtube and Worldstar on September 1st and is definitely a hit. Produced by “Clinton Place” (Jamal Nueve), this versatile song will find a home on many playlists and is a follow-up to “Hot Shit,” another recent collaboration from the talented duo. Directed by Proper Consult, “The G’z” is a track with great energy and a “feel good” vibe. Surrounded by beautiful women, his “HGS crew,” and with plenty of Belaire’s Champagne on tap, Madison Jay confidently showcases his lyrical talents. They came to party and we’re ready!
Lyrically talented with great tone and swag, Madison Jay’s evolution as an artist is undeniable. As a song, “The G’z” is well composed with a catchy hook and clever rhyming. The baseline has an “old school” feel but fits perfectly with this track, proving once again how powerful a seemingly simplistic beat can be with proper engineering/production. The music video is an added bonus to this song and pays tribute to some of the foundational characteristics of Hip-Hop music; Dance, Fashion, “MC-ing,” and Rapping. Madison Jay does an excellent job of incorporating these traditional elements into his songs & videos while developing his own personal style. His dedication and confident self-expression are exactly what most of us have come to love and enjoy about Hip-Hop culture.
