LSDMTHC ft. LoneLord | “BVBYLONE”, Chaotic Pleasure
Montebello producer, rapper & songwriter LSDMTHC teamed up with the San Gabriel artist LoneLord for a traumatic banger. Their latest release “BVBYLONE” encompasses a depth of emotions that range from vulnerability, entrancement, and straight-up amusement. The myriad of sounds & riffs you’ll be smitten with is sure to shake you up. It’s tough to categorize this record into a specific genre as the creativity floods into a multitude of subsets. There are elements of rock seeped in, and the production gives off a somber intro into darkness you may not be ready for.
As soon as LoneLord enters the scene he leads you to the light. His vocals hit the canvas in a profound way that ties the record together in fiery fashion. His flows are articulated menacingly but contain a tone that leads you to believe he’s absolutely having a blast with his verse. With the ominous production and sizzling route the track is taking, you’ll be keen to each transitional detail. While the chorus doesn’t contain lyrics for listeners to follow along with, it creates an aura of chaos & disorder that stands for the current state of humanity. By the way, not only can Montebello be seen slaughtering the second verse, which we will be diving into, but he produced the record in its entirety as well. Without knowing if this was the artists intent, we were lucky enough to chat with LSDMTHC & LoneLord to expand our knowledge on what inspired this unique piece,
“Jesse’s (LSDMTHC’s) cynical guitar riff & my 1st line mentioning the possibility of mourning a baby immediately reminded me of how bvby almost died during his birth in DBGT.” – LoneLord
“I resonated with LoneLords explanations of the DBGT Baby myth. And like a lot of my music I end up combining different ideas and archetypes. As far as the name of the song and first line I’m a fan of the writings of Jack Parsons” – LSDMTHC
As you can clearly see, the two are on a collaborative level that goes deeper than a friendly connection. They combine packed punches that dive into the realm of Dragon Ball Z conspiracies, which is a topic that is becoming increasingly popular amongst Hip-Hop listeners of this generation. There are many rappers who dive into the area of Anime rap, but most are not doing it on the spectrum of LSDMTHC & LoneLord. Playing amongst the chaos that insinuates in the hook of the record, LSDMTHC jumps into the mud with a smooth, and sinister flow that plays upon the madness. His vocals are in control throughout the entirety, and he manipulates his lyrics in a way that leads the listener into a state of trust. You’ll find yourself in an entrusting mood while bopping to the racy second verse. With LSDMTHC experimenting with a range of sounds on the record, he gave us some inside information on to when his spark for music creation began,
“There’s this tape from 2004 where I’m taking drum lessons at age 8. I remember feeling like I had my own will and not wanting to listen to to the teacher but rather learn my own way. I also grew up playing piano , guitar , bass , and my production experiments in Ableton started in 2012. — And as far as rapping goes I never thought I was going to be a rapper it sort of just happened.” – LSDMTHC
That rebel attitude certainly bleeds through into his music, and with a name like his, you can tell there is substance to his craft. I mean, his name is “LSDMTHC” which if you’re unaware combines the psychedelic drugs, LSD, DMT, & THC, or as he puts it- “three very efficient molecules”. With more in store from the two, and a plan to keep growing while continuing the craft of his art, we’re sure to see some more exciting tunes. For now, they leave us with an exceptional track that you can find on every single streaming platform you can imagine- & you’ll simply have to follow LSDMTHC on Instagram while you wait for more.
