OBL Lee | ‘Shop Talk’ EP, Jam Packed With Heaters
OBL Lee is back on Rap Fiesta with the release of his latest EP “Shop Talk”. The lively 5-track EP is nothing short of explosive, and authentic. On the intro “2014”, he sprinkled a bit of auto-tune over his brazen vocals. He rattles off bars and punchlines that make you reverse the record just to catch his lines. It’s a sharp way to start the EP and undoubtedly hooks you in with a fury. He then taps into his bag of tricks & completely switches the vibe on the next record. On “Unforgettable”, featuring Era & Noah Hall he takes a jazzy & symphonic approach. The Laruemadeit production is heavy with soulful trumpets & chords that ring pure. OBL Lee and company steal the show with ridiculous sky-reaching choruses and rap verses that will flood your eardrum pleasurably. In our humble opinion, “Unforgettable” is one of the strongest records on “Shop Talk”.
As OBL Lee never ceases to surprise, the next track is another 180 that completely bangs. With “#FreeSmoke”, he dives into stark verses & an illustrious chorus that is sure to have listeners finding their next favorite catchphrase. The chorus is incredibly memorable & combined with the colorful production, it’s not hard to see that he’s got a hit on his hands with “#FreeSmoke”.
Similar to the previous joint, “Really” transition into the 4th spot with aggression. OBL Lee unleashes his verses in blunt fashion, consistently staying in the pocket. Don’t think you’re done bumping yet, because the outro on this track will have you in awe. This record joint has the freestyle vibe down pat with enigmatic bars to have you swaying. “Shop Talk” simply put, is an EP you’ll need to listen to. Each record is uniquely rich & will expand your sound palette. Don’t sleep any further.
With more music on the way, OBL Lee has a new visual dropping with Cai Mill & Ethan Ross that is sure to excite. It’s so clear to see that OBL is putting in the work, because just when you think he’s about to relax from just releasing his EP- he tells Rap Fiesta there’s another mixtape in the works.
