LoFlash | “Home”
New York-based musician, LoFlash brings forth the light at the end of the tunnel with each song release. Tying in his life experiences and bits of advice into his lyrics, the “LIT” emcee intends to encourage others to chase their dreams,
“Your dreams, goals, anything. Just go for it,” LoFlash says. “Don’t let any uneasy feeling stop you. Crush it!!”
LoFlash was born in Syracuse, New York, and is currently in upstate New York. He also travels often to Atlanta, Georgia, for his music career. His moniker was created by a close friend way before his musical journey took off, dating back to three years ago.
“When I started making music, I just went with it. [Music] fitted well,” he says.
In his younger years, LoFlash would listen to various genres and always wanted to be surrounded by it.
“Music was always there to listen to as it would be for anyone else. I just wanted more. To learn more, know every word to every song, beats, how it gets recorded, etc.,” he adds.
Although he was heavily involved with sports, LoFlash decided to steer his focus more towards music. He would joke with his friends about pursuing a music career until one day; he was serious. The rapper figured they were talented, so why not try showing that musically to the world?
Before recording, he’ll roll a Backwood and take out the notes he jotted down the night before. After that, he’ll hop in the booth and lay it all down. His inspirations are loved ones that sadly departed from this earth, family, and friends. Not to mention, LoFlash has potential and has people who back him up on this.
“I always want to put my family in a better position or a position that’s better than what we ever had,” he says. “Somewhere far away upon the hills. Give back to who gave to me throughout my life growing up.”
Recently, the artist dropped a music video for his song “Home,” a motivational anthem for those who are wary of chasing their dreams. Surprisingly, “Home” was made two to three years ago during LoFlash’s first time to Atlanta to shoot a music video with his big brother, Creative Ryan. Once he boarded the plane and took his seat, he had a good feeling about where his music was headed. Afterward, he pulled his notes out and started writing what would become “Home.”
LoFlash’s song, “Home,” finds the rapper using both introspective and retrospective lyrics to speak about phony people and how to address their actions. In the same light, LoFlash warns others to watch their backs because your “homie [can even] be a fraud.” Sonically, the track bridges lo-fi and bedroom rap.
From the start, LoFlash unveils that he misses being “Home,” a place of love, hopes, and dreams. At the same token, LoFlash makes it known that he can spot a fake person instantly. He raps in the song’s chorus, “You ain’t fuck with me when I was broke, so who are you to call my phone?” Aside from this, LoFlash drops some gems like “forever focused, gotta be your own boss.” He also lets fans into his world, expressing what’s been on his mind lately.
His favorite line goes, “You prolly be hatin but fuck you, I missed it/Can’t hear shit you saying this blunt got me lifted.”
The visual for “Home” sees LoFlash in a plethora of color-tinted rooms and moving along with the words he lets loose. You can peep his favorite scene below.
