Young Bail | “Same Thing (feat. Breana Martin)”
New Jersey-based rapper Young Bail returns to airwaves worldwide with his song, “The Reason (feat. Breana Martin).”
Clocking in at three minutes and twenty-two seconds, “The Reason (feat. Breana Martin)” finds Young Bail symbolically adding on to his song “Same Thing.” Like his previous release, Young Bail explores his infatuation with a woman he intends to break off. Tapping into his signature raspy voice and storyteller cadence, he explains when she caught his eye, and it seems like the feeling is reciprocated. He spits, “As we both lock eyes, exchange name, and numbers, you sayin’ ‘come to the dance floor.'”
His feature, Breana Martin, seemingly lays out a smooth yet passionate range. Sonically, “The Reason (feat. Breana Martin)” blends pop arrangements with an Afrobeat-like soundscape.
In the second verse, Young Bails puts his cards on the table to express how he feels an instant connection with his eye candy. But since it’s their first encounter, he is still trying to figure her out. Even so, Young Bail plans to live in the moment, and eventually, they make their way to somewhere more private.
Before the song closes, Young Bail finds himself in a rut as he reminisces on the short-lived moment he spent with a potential “one night stand who stands at just 5’2.” Even when time passes, he can’t seem to get her out of his mind. Yet, he’s optimistic that they’ll cross paths again. “Thinkin’ damn it she gone, or will I bump into you suddenly? My beauty brown skin, the only one I want wanting me/Days pass, and I’m thinkin’ of you/Kinda trippin’ cause I saw this as a deja vu,” he delivers.
