SK Lil Chris | “YKWI2 & Believe It”,Highlight Upcoming Tape
Cleveland Ave’s and Simpsons Road’s very own SK Lil Chris from Solid Klan is stepping up to the plate with big records “YKWI2” & “Believe It”, that highlight the rapper’s growth & movements through the struggle. There’s a certain grittiness to these records that bleed life into them and indicate that SK Lil Chris is really what he raps about. There’s no cap in his rap, and his lyrics are deep & rooted in a way to make you understand what SK Lil Chris had to endure on his way to the top.
On “Believe It” featuring Slime Life Shawty, the two pair up illustriously on production that contains classic chord trap progression & sizzling synths. On very intricate parts of the chorus, we hear slight hints of Lil Uzi Vert, but on the verses, we get a plethora of uniqueness. SK Lil Chris rattled off sizzling flows & in a manner all his own. When you hear an SK Lil Chris track, you know it’s him. There’s no confusing him with other artists as his vocals & signature styles are distinct. He’s very comfortable spitting bars in the high ranges but never ceases to impress on the beat pauses when he switches gears. Although this track has a lot of depth & meaning, don’t get it twisted. You can bump this at any function, party, or gathering & it’ll get people poppin’. “Believe It” is a very versatile record through and through.
“Hard to stay down through Pandemic” – SK Lil Chris
Where we can truly see where his diversity lies, is in “YKWI2”. It’s uniquely different from the previous record, and he almost sounds like a different artist. Calm, controlled & catchy verses lead the forefront of the record. As a listener, it’s super bouncy & SK Lil Chris’s cadence reminds us of prime Kodak with a lot of color in his voice. There’s also a lot of gangster moments packed into the record. In one segment he mentions that he wouldn’t even do a drive-by because it’s too childish, he’ll just run up on you. It’s this type of energy that injects the fire & gets you amped up as a listener.
He’s truly just scratching the potential of his talent, but we got the chance to talk with SK Lil Chris to him what his future plans are. He told Rap Fiesta that he’s involved in all facets of the music game. He’s an artist, and also helps fellow artists on his team drop records. His “never stop working” mentality bleeds into the music, and we don’t think he’s stopping anytime soon.
Overall, “YKWI2” and “Believe It” slap from front to back. You might have to wait until SK Lil Chris’s tape drops, or if you’re lucky he’ll release those 2 singles first. Either way, it’s worth the wait & his branding strategy is working just as he planned. For now, you’ll have to follow SK Lil Chris on Instagram to catch his new releases & get the latest on his upcoming tape.
