Linden, New Jersey rapper Sicario Sosa puts on a clinic in his newest project ‘Cascade St‘. Each song on the album showcases the rapper’s seamless flows, carefully chosen lyrics, and ability to connect with the listener.
Originally born in Brooklyn, New York, Sicario Sosa has experienced both urban and suburban life. Having the opportunity to witness both perspectives gave the artist a better understanding of all people’s hardships.
Sicario gives you an in-depth look at what his life has been like during the pandemic. The 5-track project depicts financial struggles, uncertain relationships, and everything in-between. With the vast array of subjects touched on, Sicario is sure to address a struggle you can relate to.
I’ve been going through a lot since the start of the pandemic, and this project was definitely therapeutic for me.
Sicario got an early start in the music game. Starting in the third grade, the rapper began writing songs and recording cassette tapes. When the rapper reached high school, he began taking his music career more seriously. The first time Sicario recorded a track was with his close friend Naymez on ‘Family Ties.’
The New Jersey rapper’s stage projects his utmost belief in his music. Sosa is the artist’s real last name. Inspired by the movie ‘Sicario,’ the up-and-coming rapper decided to include it in his stage name. Sicario means ‘hitman’ in Spanish.

As you listen to ‘Cascade St,’ you’ll immediately notice the similarities between Sicario and Kanye Wests’ voices. Sicario spits every bar with intention and passion, and his energy has an old-school rap feel to it.
Sicario Sosa’s abilities are so diverse throughout ‘Cascade St’. Showing off his angelic vocal capabilities, Sicario Sosa takes you for a trip with ‘Pull Up.’
Soft piano chords and a light bass make up most of the beat in ‘Pull Up’ as Sicario Sosa begins the song rapping about an intimate relationship. When the chorus hits, featured artist Sanye arrives in gallant fashion with smooth singing that’s so pleasing to the ears.
Sicario Sosa’s creative rhyming schemes and clever pop culture ties are noticeable in each song on the album. Specifically, in ‘The Arrival,’ Sicario Sosa doesn’t stop throwing heat through the speakers. The light-hearted beat initially appears to contradict Sicario Sosa’s tone of voice. Although it may seem like an unlikely pairing, Sicario Sosa brilliantly molds the song into a gem.
Sicario Sosa received help from some gifted producers to perfect ‘Cascade Street.’ Executive producers Ayden Melatti and Omri Visions helped Sicario Sosa bring his vision to life and brought the album in line with industry standards. Other producers on the album include the gifted Peety Smooth and Din.
Exciting things are coming for Sicario Sosa in the near future. In his next project, ‘Tres Golpes,’ the up-and-coming musician mixes in more of a Latin vibe. Entirely produced by Ayden Melatti, the project is already generating hype. Additionally, Sicario Sosa hopes to work on music for other artists that are outside his current genre.
