Kilo Tae | ‘Bruce Wayne’, Melancholy Melodic Banger
Kilo Tae and his latest offering “Bruce Wayne” pack a punch with serious melodic melancholy, and a swift banger to start the summer. The North East Baltimore rapper plays upon our childhood hero Batman and elegantly captures the thrill of speeding through life with purpose. Kilo Tae’s sound on this record feels like a mixture from Speaker Knockerz, Lil Tjay, and modern melodic rappers that set ablaze to the forefront of Hip-Hop.
The Ran and Palace co-produced beat plays on your psyche with jangling hi-hats and a lead melody that paints the canvas for Kilo Tae to go to work. Kilo Tae’s flow on the record is natural, never exiting his comfort zone while maximizing his strengths. It’s a record you can see going viral on Tik-Tok, or one you’ll enjoy bumping with the windows down doing 110 on the freeway. “Bruce Wayne” isn’t the type of record that arrived out of the blue, Kilo Tae got into the game early at 15 years old and was emboldened by affliction. He lost his grandmother in 2013, and through his record “Bruce Wayne” you can always feel that tinge of pain in his voice.
We’ve dove into his origin story, but we wanted to know how Kilo Tae arrived at his stage name. Kilo Tae was kind enough to provide us with the backstory,
“My stage name is Kilo Tae, which means (Keep. It. Loyal. Overall) me and my close friends put together because don’t nobody hold it down like we hold it down. A group full of hustlers and motivators. 1 for all & all for 1.”
It’s a family mindset, and one that works for the Baltimore artist to craft together records in a cohesive fashion. Especially on “Bruce Wayne” you’ll feel the selfless energy that makes the record so addicting. It’s one for all the homies to enjoy and elevate themselves to. Although still very early in his career and yet to solidify his complete signature sound, the future is promising. He’s already adept at crafting catchy choruses and slick verses to accompany them, you’ll be able to feel his potential on a record like “Bruce Wayne”.
With records like “Bruce Wayne” added to the rap resume, Kilo Tae is quickly rising the ranks. It’s only a matter of time before it catches fire and ignites his trajectory. With more heaters on the way, Kilo Tae is focused on reaching new heights and putting in the work to get there. A record like Bruce Wayne won’t go unnoticed, and coupling that with his commitment to his craft will see to the progression. For now you’ll have to follow Kilo Tae on Instagram to stay in the circle for more enticing drops.
