Watty 4rm YE | “7 Deadly Sins”, An Album To Captivate The Tri-State
Watty 4rm YE out of Jersey City, NJ is poised to make noise with the release of his enrapturing new album “7 Deadly Sins“. Arising from a budding and Hip-Hop cultivated NJ scene, Watty is showcasing a knack for legitimizing his position in the rise of NJ Hip-Hop with richly authentic rap & and an uncanny ability to weave cohesive features in ebullient fashion. The 7-track album, (no less Watty thought of this track-order when cleverly naming it “7 Deadly Sins”) is jam-packed with energizing records to flood the summer.
Drawing comparisons to Young Thug’s ability to flow elusively, and commanding vocal capabilities that remind us of Maxo Kream- Watty 4rm YE is diversifying a sound that will remain unique to his brand. Right from the intro “CARRY ON“, he wastes no time getting groovy on the sampled instrumental from Bobby Caldwell’s “Carry On”. He dives bars first with a speedy cadence to grasp your attention, with refusal to let go. He then allows his versatility to show in the next record with “DANGEROUS” while toting a feature from Ulyssess who provides nothing short of angelic vocals while encapsulating you.
“7 Deadly Sins” possess a grasp on modern trap while mixing in genres of indie-folk that you’re not keen to witnessing on a rap album. This truth can’t be further disputed than Watty’s ability to commit slaughter on “MOONLIGHT“. At the beginning of the record, you’ll be drawn by the fleeting, soft folk vocal; only for Watty 4rm Ye to arise and put pen to pad for 3 straight minutes.
A revitalizing artist with a pension for committing creative probes on a project that most artists would be afraid to tackle is what makes Watty, Watty. He’s unafraid, and more dangerously he’s able to weave in a plethora of different sounds and energies to deliver a complete and well-put-together project. We asked Watty where his inspiration for the album came from and he provided,
“The inspiration behind my tape is my city. I called it 7 deadly sins because that mainly what I see in the hood. Pride, lust, envy, etc. these ideals really guide you through everything that’s going on but at the same time if you move a certain way you can benefit in this environment. So in my tape, I describe some of my experiences dealing with the 7 deadly sins and how I maneuvered for better or worse.”
Watty set out to depict the challenging situational environment that he grew up in, and he did so illustriously. You’ll be completely enthralled and bewitched by Watty’s ability to deliver you into the hood of Jersey through “7 Deadly Sins“. With 5 years of experience in the game, Watty is addicted to the hunt for success,
“I started playing around with music in 2016 when I dropped my first single. I was more focused on clothes at that moment. Then 2017-2018 I dropped my first project. I had trouble finding my sound so it was an experimental time but I was hooked and kept moving forward.”
“WATTY 4RM YE, Watty from Y.E. Watty is a play on my last name and “4RM” is a play on text because growing up that’s how we used spell during AIM, and BBM days and Y.E. Is my brand I’m currently working on called Youthful Existence which is ready-to-wear pieces, t-shirts hoodies and bottoms.”
