Aaron Desire | “God’s Protection”
Aaron Desire gives thanks to the Most High for shielding him from the evils of this world and more in “God’s Protection.” In three minutes and twenty seconds, the proficient wordsmith reveals that God ultimately took him out of situations that no longer served him. While the devil may have a hold on others at times, Aaron Desire is here to remind them that God breaks all shackles.
“He came to me and asked, ‘My N*gga did you learn your lesson? /It’s crazy how life is just one real big assessment/And everyday, the devil out here really trying test us.”
As the song continues, Aaron Desire addresses the dilemma that we are facing as a human race. Moreso, with people who have bad intentions. Additionally, he opens up about his own battle with the fallen angel.
“The way I see it/Man We living a lie/While we praying to live /They out here praying we die/So we fight to survive /And I hope for the latter /Cause one day /I won’t have tell my kids why black lives matter.”
In the end, Aaron Desire concludes that “He’s got something for me.”
The instrumental is a sample off of Kanye West’s College Dropout.
