Affy | A Female Rapper Who Prefers The Facts Over Fiction
Segen Abraha, better known as Affy, is a Michigan-based female rapper who speaks with honesty. Aside from this, her music carries messages about being original, chasing your dreams, and being confident. Although she is soft-spoken, Affy’s all-around energy gets crowds engaged with her sound. The most notable element of her musical styling is the witty punchlines and its aggressive elements. For example, in her latest song, “Affy Reloaded Part 2.” She raps, “Something like a shopping spree the way I’m always in my bag.”
“Affy Reloaded Part 2” is a trap hip-hop offering that sees the rapper speaking about her hustle, giving out advice, and calling one’s bluff. Elsewhere, Affy unveils that she has hittas that’ll ride for her at all cost if others want to talk sideways. Affy even proves that she can stand her own ground.
Affy was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on July 19th, 1991. She is the daughter of Girmai Abraha and Lemlem Seifu, who were both refugees from Eritrea. Affy was the first family member to be born in America, thus making her an Eritrean American. Affy started writing at 10-years-old, knocking down poetry competitions all over Michigan. Once she turned 18, Affy swapped in her pen and pad for a microphone. Starting off doing rap battles in her hometown of Grand Rapids, Affy became notorious. From there, she decided to take her rhymes to the next level.
