Ahmad Anonimis | “In The Whip”, Laid Back Vibe
Ahmad Anonimis has a new single titled “In The Whip” highlights his Georgia roots and his laid back sound.
Ahmad Anonimis began to rap in 2013 when he was in middle school. He looked up to the “backpack rapper” style of rapping. He developed his skills over time and began to take music seriously in the summer of 2018. Ahmad created his rap name out of a combination of his middle name and a different spelling of anonymous. He uses the name Anonimis to remember a time in middle and high school when he would blend in with different social groups and hide his true self.
The producer of the track “In The Whip” is Tyler Major. Major has a chill, laid back style- and Ahmad told Rap Fiesta the tune “has a special charm that I can appreciate and utilize to make bangers.” “In The Whip” has cross-over appeal, its potential oozes along what Valentino did for 24k Goldn. The beat is simple, calming, and catchy. It is the perfect track to bump in the car this summer as outside opens back up. The hook is very catchy and overall vibe of the song is upbeat, enjoyable and fun. The verses on this track showcases Ahmad’s musical versatility. He is able to combine singing with lyricism and fast-style rapping to create a sound all his own. The charm of producer Tyler Major is highlighted in “In The Whip” by the soothing singing on the hook. This gives the song a sweet and genuine sound to it and highlights the pop influences. The track also features iCEYDONi who has a flow with an old school, hip hop sound. He brings a different style to the second verse and helps to keep the listener’s attention.
Ahmad’s Georgia influences are evident in this song. There is a smooth quality to the majority of rap that comes out of Atlanta and Ahmad’s flow and choice of beat create a soothing sound that is similar to classic Georgia artist OutKast who were able to carve their own lane in the music industry with their original style. Compared to Ahmad’s previous tracks, “In The Whip” uses many more experimental elements and shows that he is not afraid to switch his style and think outside of the box. On his previous tracks, he uses a fast flow, long bars, and lyricism to showcase his skills but does not include any cross over elements. Ahmad Anonimis’s goal as an artist is to “keep dropping content all over the web, my goal to reach as many markets as possible, so I’m gonna keep dropping videos and songs for the rest of 2020, to further engage with my audience and to show them the real me.” The ability to morph and mold his style into something new will give him more versatility as an artist and help him to attract listeners from different backgrounds and fans from all genres.
