Ahmee | “Let Go”, NY Native Making Waves In Thailand Hip-Hop
NY Native Ahmee is proving he’s adept at delivering internationally loved records with the release of “Let Go” featuring Makampom diving into US and Thailand rap markets simultaneously. This melodic trap record features a sad catchy guitar melody along with hard-hitting drums. The record goes into depth about personal experiences from the two Thailand artists in regards to highly relatable real-life situations.
Ahmee lets off bar after bar in regards to letting go of past love, and his full commitment to music after moving from NYC to Thailand and his enlightened approach to life. The beat has tinges of emo-rock, but Ahmee doesn’t allow himself to be boxed in by it and incorporates his own signature harmonies. With Ahmee supplying much of the heat, the added assist from Thailand’s Makampom on the verse makes for a powerful punch.
“Cut you off and you call me a ghost
You be bugging you be doing the most”
The music video for “Let Go“, was shot in Bangkok and illuminates Ahmee in an aesthetically pleasing fashion. Not only has Ahmee developed his signature sound sonically, but he’s also stamped his brand on how he appears visually. He features his on-brand aesthetic of slow motion, blurry shots, and VHS style shows. He’s allowing the raw side of himself to be depicted, letting you into a vulnerability that he’s not keen on hiding. We had a chance to chat with Ahmee about the music video and he told us,
“It’s about showing people that you can just be yourself. You don’t have to flex wealth or pretend to be someone you’re not. Let go of that toxic mentality and be yourself.” – Ahmee
It’s a pure message we can all get behind, along with the ear-candy vocals to lusciously paint the picture in our minds. “Let Go” is a certified slapper and one you’ll be glad to add to your playlists this upcoming summer. Be sure to follow Ahmee on Instagram to stay up to date with the latest.
