Arkadian | “Life of Arkadian”
Arkadian leads aspiring go-getters to the road of riches in “Life of Arkadian.” Over the galactic trap beat, the musician speaks about the pros of being wealthy. He rejoices about having funds at his disposal.
“Pockets straighter than a perm now/Born hustler ain’t have to learn how,” Arkadian raps. The emcee credits hard work and hustle mentality for his newfound success.
Following this, he says that he can teach others how to become financially secure. Then, he lists several methods that’ll help them make bank. But, it comes with a fair warning. Afterward, Arkadian circles back to his net worth. In short, the rapper always has a wad of cash on him.
“When you grindin’ all your life, this is what you gonna get, RICH,” he spits.
As the song continues, Arkadian gives more life advice. Giving these gems is moreso beneficial for the rapper because he wants everyone to eat. He especially wants to put his brothers on game.
So he raps, “Yeah ‘ima feed my n*ggas and teach them how to fish.”
He proceeds by explaining his ways of gaining profit. Fast forward, and Arkadian starts flexing on those who hated him or doubted his greatness. He questions why they even waste their time, saying, “Like go chase a bag n*gga why hate?“
The remainder of “Life of Arkadian” finds the artist optimistic about his lavish lifestyle and having the hottest record across the globe.
From his point of view, he concurs that “Ballin’ was never a challenge.” No matter your race or ethnicity, you’re capable of being the next mogul.
The song closes with a chopped and screwed version of its refrain. Also, Arkadian opts for an auto-tune-inspired delivery.
Natalee Gilbert got the chance to speak to Arkadian at Rap Fiesta. You can read the convo below:
1. How did your music journey begin?
My music began a while back in the U.S.Army when I wrote out my thoughts.
2. How would you describe your sound to someone who hasn’t heard your music yet?
My music is based on my life. Real-life things that others can relate to.
3. What’s your creative process like?
I can see the vision before it happens. So I’m in tune with positive energy and staying grounded.
4. The meaning behind your moniker:
Arkadian is a warrior that controls his area (or battlefield being in the U.S.Army, doing infantry things, and processing on to bigger things in the U.S. Army). I became a sniper. I got the call sign name blackout, but I like reading and found the name Arkadian. So, instead, I started using that name as a call sign.
5. One thing you need before hopping in the studio:
I need a peace of mind and some water and a cold Coke-a-Cola, food, and junk food.
I don’t want people who are not about business there. Because then, I feel like they’re just taking up space.
6. Not too long ago, you dropped a song. What were the steps you took to make it come to life?
I dropped “Life Of Arkadian” once I saw the vision of how I wanted others to see it through my eyes. I directed the video. I took control and ran it myself. It came out to how I would expect to come out on TV when it’s all said and done.
7. In a word, what would be the underlying message in your song?
Never give up. Be strong. You weren’t created to lose yourself. You were designed to be kings and queens. Some leaders are the best. And some lead people to a path of destruction. I would hope you lead a positive life.
8. One of your favorite lines & why?
“G4-20 grand to the pilot/Using the jet like a Uber/ Instagram check the places I flew her.”
It’s a strong punch line because everyone would like to have money to go somewhere without waiting on payday or balling on a budget.
9. What inspired your newest song?
Life. It repeats itself whether you are going through it or someone else you know is going through it. It’s not a life, and the music these days is not talking about real shit. It’s talking about garbage. For instance, Lil Durk. I fuck with him because he talks about street shit that happens in Chi-Town. It’s the same for me because people got to feel you and understand where you are coming from. Your life can be easy, but you are going through something that you just went through 6 months ago and made a part of your life.
10. What do you hope others take from it?
Listen to the music and sit back. Listen, because I know what I went through, someone you know or might know can see that you have to be strong and once again NEVER GIVE UP on anything. Its music with a meaning. Like Tupac said, “I’m that ghetto priest.”
