Auto302 | ‘Thanos’, Fiery Upbeat Hip-Hop
Straight out of Wilmington, Delaware, rapper and recording artist Auto302 is giving his city a good name with his newest single, “Thanos.” This fiery track showcases Auto302 at his best and definitely makes for a great listen. Showcasing incandescent and confident energy with dynamic flows and potent lyricism, rap lovers will surely quickly take a liking to this noteworthy track.
Auto doesn’t take long before he gets into his barrage of lyrical firepower with this one. Right from the jump, he comes out firing pun after pun with style and pizzazz. Auto not only executes prowess within his recording technique and the delivery of his vocal performance, but proves to be a formidable writer as well. Out of the gate, bars like the following let the listener know right away that they are in for a hype and exciting treat:
Life getting harder to take on, so I feel my way through it. Ray Charles.
Really not one you can program. Imma say fuck it, go AWOL.
Making a splash. Putting my foot down like I’m steppin’ on paint balls.”
This record highlighted a lot of strengths from Auto, as his skills and abilities ooze through each rhyme and each bar. The vocal inflection he exudes throughout the majority of this track reminded me a lot of Philadelphia hip-hop legend Meek Mill, and I was thoroughly impressed with Auto’s performance. The beat on this one slaps too, and perfectly compliments what Auto brings to the table. To top it off, the official music video to this record, directed by Josh X, is incredibly well executed and adds a lot of flavor to the song. The entire video of this 2-minute track is professionally shot and edited which makes for a compelling watch and listen all around.
After listening to this record several times over, Rap Fiesta had the chance to sit down with Auto302 to get to know a little bit more about the artist. When asked about this particular song, produced by Magik Got Beats, Auto outlined the inspiration stemming from his self-awareness and belief in himself. Specifically, he mentions,
I know who I am which is why I stand on my beliefs as strong as I do. Which made me able to relate to character ‘Thanos’…”
It’s clear that Auto not only exhibits a boatload self-confidence but more importantly has the talent to back it up. When asked about his background and history within his music career, Auto let us know he’s created a pretty interesting path for himself. He’s been making music for 5 years, but he battle rapped for another 2 years before that. We at Rap Fiesta weren’t surprised to learn Auto was a battle rapper earlier on his career; you could hear the battle-rapper type of energy and lyrical acumen right away in this track. Stemming off of this, Auto went into a little more detail about how he came up with his stage name:
Auto means self, self means soul. Matik means combine form. So Automatik means soul combining form. I’m at one, I’m at Peace… I dropped the Matik when I [stopped] battle rapping… 302 is the area code of the state I’m from…”
As for his next moves, Auto is making sure to keep himself busy. His fans should be happy to know that he’ll continue to be putting out music leading to his album, along with sick visuals that will “paint the picture to [his] story.” All of us at Rap Fiesta are excited to see what the future has in store for Auto, and we can’t wait to see some more music from this talented artist. Until then, we’ll be keeping ‘Thanos’ on repeat. Stay up to date with Auto302 by following his Instagram, here.
