ClearLanes | “Demonz”, A Spooky Season Banger
The latest addition to ClearLanes discography is nothing short of impressive. Fort Worth native rapper just dropped, “Demonz”, a song that is perfect for this spooky season. The energy on this track is unmatched and it was an immediate add to my playlists.
When I first listened to this song I was walking home. Within the first 15 seconds, I realized this was a track that I needed to hear through my speakers, a song that I wanted to give my full attention because it immediately struck me as a hit. Demonz features a fairly simple, but full beat with emphasis on deep trap drums and punchy hi-hats. There is a synth sound that repeats throughout the track giving it a sinister twist. The heavy bass featured in this song adds depth and fullness.
The production of this track leaves plenty of room for ClearLanes vocal performance to stand out. He utilizes repetition in the hook of his song, allowing his audience to easily catch along to his energy. ClearLanes impressed us all here at Rap Fiesta with bar after bar. He created a track that stands out lyrically, but also one where we can all sing along due to the familiarity he created. The variation of his flow inspires us to listen to what he is saying, without losing ourselves in the beat. He murders the delivery of his bars, with articulation and animation, especially when he raps,
Know that the Devil is gonna pray on my weakness
Just cos you ain’t cheating don’t mean you ain’t cheating
God I know you have purpose,
I know you was callin’,
But I was too busy out playin’ with Demons.
– ClearLanes
Again, the delivery and powerful spirit he brings to Demonz, makes the song irresistible. ClearLanes expresses his turn to his demons as he celebrates them rather than shunning them. This artist touches on his connection with God, but also welcomes the playfulness of a darker side. Although demons are typically associated with negative feelings, he does a great job of bringing a new perspective. This attitude could be due to the artists experience with loneliness, which he touches on towards the end of the song-
I didn’t have friends growing up
Imma just play with my Demons
– ClearLanes
Demonz is a track that really brings us into ClearLanes, and who he is as an artist while giving us space to appreciate a unique track. The team at Rap Fiesta was ecstatic when we first heard this song, and we can’t wait to hear what is next for this talented artist.
