DaeZoldyck | ‘DownFall’, Dreams And Nightmares Nostalgia
Brooklyn rapper and singer DaeZoldyck recently dropped off his new release ‘DownFall’, which gives off heavy Tee Grizzly vibes with a hint of heartfelt sorrow & somber dreams. Released on July 31st, 2020, the track is still in its early climb to heightened success. DaeZoldyck is primed for the bright lights, and the raw & authentic approach he takes with this record is a further testament. He leaves all his emotions visible for the world to absorb and oozes a certain vulnerability that most rappers are afraid to shed. This type of realness is hard to come by in today’s popular Hip-Hop culture of emulating hyped personas.
DaeZoldyck is really about the life he talks about & its easy to tell. He comes with a certain grittiness that isn’t braggadocious, but in the same tone demands your respect. A-la Dreams & Nightmares from Meek Mill in 2012, you’ll feel the same chills in your spine from ‘DownFall’. DaeZoldyck glazed the Hozay-Beats produced instrumental properly with emphatic bars & puts you in a realm ready to take on the world. He’s aware of the calm production and uses it to his advantage. His ability to build excitement with carefully placed verses is awe-inspiring.
Here at Rap Fiesta, we wanted to know what sparked Dae to unload this type of ferocity on his record. We were lucky enough to gain comment from him,
I wrote this song because I wanted to show people that I could do more than singing. That I could fit into different categories in music than talking about love, girls and etc. I wanted to show people how my life is right now and how I would like it to be in the future.
Having been creating records since 2019, DaeZoldyck is still a fresh name in the game. After many struggles and hardships, Dae pointed out what propelled his music career and what got him into his calling,
I wrote my first song due to one heartbreak but my focus was on basketball. After I got turned down from my school basketball team, I realized basketball wasn’t really what God wanted for me. So I took my talents into music. It’s very hard to make it out of Brooklyn, New York because there are a lot of talented artists out there. With God, hard work and dedication I could do it. When I started, I was struggling for a name. At first I was going to use my birth name, but then realized it wasn’t something I would want people to say. For example “Yo put on that Dalen.” It sounded very weird to me. During that time I was watching an anime named “Hunter x Hunter.” I grew a huge liking for a character in the show named “Killua Zoldyck.” So I thought to myself why don’t I use my nickname since a child “Dae” and combine it with Zoldyck to show I’m a huge fan of anime. I’m not afraid to show people who I am and what I do. I love being a geek honestly. – DaeZoldyck
With records like ‘DownFall’ and ‘No Hoes’ leading the way, DaeZoldyck clearly has the talent and versatility to succeed.
