Dante The Artist | “Dante’s Inferno”, A Clever Genre Blend
Rap Fiesta’s latest featured rapper, Dante The Artist, and his new album “Dante’s Inferno” are bringing all the lowkey vibes you need for a chill night in. The Houston-based rapper showcases his creativity’s broad range on his nine-track project that blends various musical genres like R&B, hip-hop, indie, and pop. Although seemingly incompatible, Dante The Artist knows precisely how much of each element to incorporate into every single song on the album.
One undeniable detail about “Dante’s Inferno” is the artist’s understanding of rhythm and structure within a song. However, since Dante The Artist has been messing around with music since the age of eight, it’s no surprise he’s learned a few things along his journey.
Although it initially started as a fun hobby, Dante The Artist has been taking his career in music more seriously since he reached high school. That said, the North Carolina-born singer has had plenty of time to perfect what makes him unique in the music industry.
In fact, Dante The Artist uses his stage name as a continuous reminder and portrayal of what makes him unique. Fortunately, Rap Fiesta had a chance to sit down and interview the up-and-coming rapper to hear why he chose his stage name:
I came up with the name Dante The Artist because I’m not stuck in one box, and you can’t put a direct genre on my sound – Dante The Artist.
And the musician is right; you can’t file his music under one particular genre. Instead, Dante The Artist meticulously blends several musical genres to form something one of a kind. One example of this perfect blend is found in “Speed Of Light.” Mixing hip-hop, pop, and indie elements, Dante The Artist crafts a track with a psychedelic feel wrapped in a wavy beat.
If we had to pick a favorite track off “Dante’s Inferno,” it would definitely be “Speed Of Light.” Not only is the mix of genres a whole vibe, but it also speaks to the level of creativity Dante The Artist pours into his craft. The upbeat yet still somehow chill rhythm slips you into an entrancing wave. Pair that with Dante The Artists‘ angelic vocal runs, and you get a song with so much texture and dimension you can’t stop hitting play.
Overall, “Dante’s Inferno” is packed with relaxing, lowkey tracks that’ll get you head-bopping but also keep you mesmerized with a relaxing energy. Still, although Dante The Artist‘s vocal runs and capabilities are undoubtedly elite, it’s equally impressive when the musician starts rapping.
Dante The Artist will hit you with a variety of flows that bounce and move with each beat on the album. What makes that even more impressive is the unconventional structure in some of the rhythms. Despite that, Dante The Artist still delivers a unique, audibly stimulating flow over an ear-catching beat.
With so much time and energy in his music, there’s no way Dante The Artist is slowing down anytime soon. That said, the rapper plans to drop a few more projects soon as well as perform shows in the next few months. So, make sure you follow Dante The Artist on Instagram to know exactly when he’s dropping more music and where he’ll be performing.
