DillyBat is taking names & starting trends with the release of his new visual “The Wave”. The Saskatoon artist is not only a rapper, but he writes, records, audio engineers & even creates the visuals on his tracks by his lonely. Each of these crafts on their own are areas that people spend their whole life learning, so for DillyBat to create this sound & experience on his own is something that’s worth noting. “The Wave” is a classic example of a track aimed towards modern Hip-Hop climate. It’s got the beautiful girls, the fancy cars & more importantly the type of catchy drippy choruses we all know & love.
It’s not the first time DillyBat has caught the attention of Rap Fiesta, with tracks like “The Virus” in July that highlighted the hurt of the pandemic & showcased a somber style. On this record, he’s showcasing he can both drop a track about serious topics like this past 2020, and in turn come back with a turn-up record that’s laced in good fun & an overall record to go crazy to. DillyBat is proving day in & day out that he can’t be boxed in, and each of these visuals is a testament to it.
It would almost be a shame to listen to this song & not watch the music video. The visuals that accompany this song will blast your dopamine levels. There’s so many beautiful scenes encapsulated & coloring that makes you feel like you’re in a film. Not to mention that intricate cut scenes that end up placing DillyBat in a convenience store, that he turns to his personal clubroom. There’s a lot to unpack, and a ton to enjoy. The feel of the record has passion infused inside of it, and you’ll extract that from one listen surely. You’ll feel the good energy just from the turn-up chorus that’s coupled with the extravagant lifestyle that DillyBat portrays in his visual. Overall, “The Wave” is an experience. We have trouble calling it a song, because it’s more than that. It’s a film, and a way to escape monotony and enter a world of creativity that DillyBat penned.
