Dolo Oya | “Dolo Shit”, Album Filled With Loud Pack Energy
Harlem,NY rapper Dolo Oya recently dropped his debut album, “Dolo Shit“, and contains 7 joints of tracks that slap from cover to cover. The project is filled with loud hype energy and is sure to shake you out of your seat from the opening record. “Dolo Shit” brings an energy that is reminiscent of pre-game fight music, or better yet records that you want a party to get hype to. Dolo Oya’s energy is infectious and inspiring, it’s impossible to feel down bad when you give it a listen. It’s a collection of songs that we’d love to see Dolo Oya perform live because there is no doubt the energy will incite mosh pits of ravenous fans to vibe out hard.
“All that f*cking talking, you can’t even by yourself a whip”
There’s no cap in his rap. Only true sentiments can be applied to daily survival. A lot of people front material items & talk a big game, but Dolo Oya is calling all of that out with fiery energy. On “Pipe Down“, he’s doing what most civilians don’t have the heart to do- and that’s call out the phonies. You can feel from this record alone that he means what he says, and the chorus will have you wanting to call up your rivals & set them straight. With unwavering confidence, Dolo weaves in and out of pockets while unleashing a raging set of bars.
“Don’t Get Murk’d” is another fan favorite. Dolo Oya sprays a flurry of heat in his opening verse, and the added doubles mixed with the slight raspiness in his voice make for an enticing listen. He’s unbelievably candid in displaying complete savage bars at a comfortable pace, and it’s truly revitalizing. But the project is not only marked by an ability to infuse a crowd with passionate feeling, as it also posses multiple diverse components. On “She Dangerous“, he opens up a more vulnerable side to his life and showcases a soft side that a female audience is sure to enjoy. All in all, there’s a ton of takeaway from these records, and we got in touch with Dolo Oya to ask where the inspiration from “Dolo Shit” came from, which he was kind enough to provide to us,
“DOLO comes from me just operating and moving by myself aka solo dolo. I ain’t never jacked or repped a set I always been kinda like on my own type of shit so any situations or altercations I ever had I handled it in on my own standing on my own two feet. OYA comes from the term of one of my favorite video game series Yakuza. It’s short for Oyabun which means “boss” in Japanese.”
While still fresh in the game as he’s only 9 months into the industry, he’s setting songs off at a blizzarding pace. There’s a ton to expect from the rising artist, but for now, you’ll have to bump “Dolo Shit” in the meantime to keep you company while you wait for more heat from the NY Rapper.
