Fanta$y | “Measure Up!”, Vibrant Start To The Summer

Starting from the first line of this track, there is no mistaking that Fanta$y is all about the grind, and ‘Measure Up!‘ is an easy indicator of that. With a calm, soothing instrumental, ‘Measure Up!‘ allows Fanta$y to showcase his spectacular wordplay as he dives in and showers gems throughout this track.
‘Measure Up!‘, like the rest of Fanta$y’s upcoming album, was inspired by a culmination of trials and tribulations throughout the summer of 2020. Quarantine had previously slowed the influx of inspiration Fanta$y needed to create music and eventually led to a frustrating writers’ block. To free himself from that clouded mental fog, Fanta$y went back to what got him started with music in the first place – Freestyling. This allowed his thoughts to flow free as he was able to spit whatever was on his mind at any moment, which eventually cultivated in him producing some of the best music of his four-year career.

Fanta$y draws inspiration for his stage name through family financial struggles growing up. Regardless of the family situation, money always seemed to cause rifts within the family dynamic. Knowing this struggle, he preaches throughout this track to “measure up and level up”, a line that listeners who have been dealt a similar hand can immediately resonate with. On top of that, Fanta$y allows the listener to peer into some of his vulnerabilities between hardships and demons he needs to face. Fanta$y finishes this track with a conversation that just about feels as if it’s just between himself, his friends, and the listener.
