Fran Morr | “Everyday is Wednesday Except Friday & Saturday”
Long Island artist Fran Morr recently dropped a wonderfully crafted album, “Everyday is Wednesday Except Friday & Saturday“. The 14-track album is filled with a wide array of vibes and sonics to dive into. The album is unorthodox, and each track flows down the list in beautiful cohesion. “EWED” is truly an album that ends up feeling like an emotional movie rather than a rap-album. Fran Morr won’t be boxed in, and proves it on each sequential track from cover to cover.
“…to convince them, that you are not plastic” – Fran Morr
He opens up the project with “Freak!” that depicts a lineup of topics from politics, drugs, food and anarchy. It’s the perfect intro into the wild mindset of Fran Morr. The beat is raw with heavily distorted 808s, and low octave doubles from Fran Morr’s vocals that will distort your reality. Although he starts the project off with a non-modern take, he brings things back to normalcy on the 3rd track “plastic“. This track is truly beautiful and super emotional. Fran Morr took a step back from rapping and dove into a completely different genre and dominated it. His vocals are wide, laced with introspective outlooks on life and the human will to be socially accepted. It’s an alternative sound and we absolutely love it.
The most impressive part about “Everyday is Wednesday Except Friday & Saturday” is that the entire project was recorded, mixed, mastered and written by Fran Morr. That’s no small feat at all. There are few artists that can perform multiple skillsets on a high level and Fran Morr is seating himself right amongst the few. He continues the vibes on the very next track “ghost stories” and takes a singing approach amongst a lofi-esque beat that will place you right in your feels. He’s got the chill, euphoric sound down pat on this album and listeners won’t help but to feel immersed in high energy after a listen.
Rap Fiesta was lucky enough to get the chance and sit down with Fran Morr to ask him where he got the inspiration for “Everyday is Wednesday Except Friday & Saturday”,
“This album was inspired by internal struggle, escapism, forgetting who I am, losing touch with reality. It’s a lot of emotions and it’s a lot of feeling empty inside. Both sides of the same coin I guess. I’ve never been more proud of anything in my life.” – Fran Morr
Having been making music since the age of 15, the times have served Fran Morr well in his progression. He’s always kept a tangible part of himself embedded in the music and it shows from his stage name, Fran Morr. The “Fran” comes from his real name Franklin, and the “Morr” from the area in Long Island where grew up- Center Moriches. It doesn’t get as real as that from an artist who never wants to forget who he is and where he came from, and this album is all of that and more.
As he winds down the album on “You Remind Me of Myself” , you truly feel like you’re at the end of a cinematic film and the credits are rolling. But the irony is Fran Morr is truly just beginning. Speaking of films, he’s dropping a short movie a week after the album debuts to give further insight onto “Everyday is Wednesday Except Friday & Saturday”. The movie will be composed of 14 music videos- one for every song, and continues the story of his body of work. You’ll definitely want to do your ears are a favor and give this project a bump from start to finish.
