FRVRFRIDAY | “Window Shopping” Ft. Lil Baby
Even with limited work sometimes it is clear that an artist is poised to blow up. Edmonton’s very own FRVRFRIDAY has yet to release a full-length album, but most listeners agree that he’s next up. Last Friday he came through with his third single of the year, “Window Shopping”. The song headlines FRVRFRIDAY’s biggest feature to date with an as per usual slick verse from Lil Baby- but it’s FRVRFRIDAY’s hook and melody that will make casual listeners want to hear more. His past work has given us melodic songs to vibe with, fast-paced songs with plenty of bars to get hyped to, and most recently with 2020 singles “100 Rounds” and “Nana” (the same instrumental later used for Pop Smoke’s posthumous album track “For the Night”), catchy tracks that you’ll find yourself singing along to.
Over a slow beat with a slap that you could envision hearing when you pull up to a party or the club, “Window Shopping” puts you in the same mood that some of the best in the game delivers to us. On this track, FRVRFRIDAY sings about his relationship with a woman in his life, and thanks to the blue faces in his pocket, there’s no need to window shop. With a flow that transitions effortlessly between the hook and verse, he demonstrates how he’ll treat her right. This is a fun, braggadocious song to sing along with, dance, and surely have a good time to. It’s a song for all the people who don’t need to window shop, even if that’s only at your local Walmart.
Check out a personal favorite “WHOISFRIDAY” or his other two EP’s “Offline” and “More Than You Know” for the full range of FRVRFRIDAY’s vibes. These projects along with the numerous singles he’s released tell the whole story of FRVRFRIDAY’s potential beyond someone who, as he says on “Nana” “makes hits like a walk in the park”.
