Gichi Gab | “Vantage” Debut Album
Gichi Gab’s debut album “Vantage” aims to show the artist’s unique vision. The definition of vantage is place or position that shows the view of a certain object. The inspiration for Gichi Gab’s debut album is “Vantage” which is his way of describing his individuality and his plan to stand out among other independent artists. For Gichi, fashion and music go hand and hand. The 27-year old artist grew up in Piscataway, New Jersey. At a young age Gichi did not have a lot of options when it came to fashion. He got his first pair of name brand sneakers from his uncle at age 10. As Gichi grew up, fashion became a larger part of his life. His fashion influences include street wear icons like Pharell Williams and high fashion designers such as Karl Largerfel. Gichi sees fashion as a form of self expression and a way of expressing his unique point of view. He approaches music in the same way and see’s “Vantage” as a way to express himself organically.
In his debut project “Vantage”, Gichi intends to create his brand by using his rap skills and creativity. The album will touch on life situations, goals, what he has done in the past and where he intends to go in the future. When asked the intentions of the album Gichi states:
“I want the world to love it , listen , and f*** with me on this journey.”
Gichi describes his rap style as a combination of cultures, time periods and lyrical styles. His influences include Nipsey Hussle, Tupac, Jay-Z, Pharell, Young Thug, Gunna and Three 6 Mafia. He raps with the intention of having people learn from his lyrics and grow with his music.
