Gio Dee | “Save It”
Boston rapper Gio Dee tells antagonists to keep their opinions to themselves in his new song, “Save It.” Led by a wind percussion, the dark trap beat finds Gio Dee spitting braggadocious bars about his burgeoning career. Given all the work he’s put in, Gio Dee deserves a check. He raps, “All the crosses on me, can’t save me/Came up from the bottom, b*tch pay me.”
As the song continues, Gio Dee speaks about his exclusive drip and lavish lifestyle. Because of this, he comes across envious individuals who try stealing his joy. But Gio Dee sets the record straight, saying that they can’t break his spirit or drive. If he and his team are in good hands, everything is fine.
“N*ggas claim they real but they wearing fake sh*t/I ain’t tryna lose my focus or my patience.”
Gio Dee gained worldwide recognition when Vine-star Jerry Purpdrank posted his song “Mind Yo Business” on a post. The post ended up going viral and scored over 1 million views on YouTube – it recently resurfaced on Tik Tok as well.
Before Christmas hit in 2015, the rapper released his project Mind Yo Business. The musical compilation features production by Metro Boomin and TM88, along with guest appearances by Bay Area native Iamsu! and MadeinTYO.
The EP was so successful that Gio got a chance to become a headliner for Lil Uzi Vert at Middle East, G–Eazy at the HOB Boston, and Iamsu! at his 14 cities “Eyes On Me Tour” with Mod Sun, Gravez, and Salma Slims in the summer of 2016.
Gio released his first full-length project, Never Going Back (April 2017), in partnership with Black 17 Media, a subsidiary of Sony RED. This album featured Iamsu!, Lil Rich, and Eli Sostre. In September 2019, he also appeared on Marc E. Bassy‘s album, Post Modern Depression.
Last January (2020), Gio released his second full-length studio album, Ready Now?, with production from DJ Shabazz, Iamsu!, Marc E. Bassy, Polo $ummers, and One-H. With “Save Me” and more new visuals on the way, Gio Dee is guaranteed to cement his place in the rapsphere.
