I.G | Pray, Consistently Hard Knocking Flows
I.G is back on Rap Fiestas radar making good on his promise to drop a track a week with his latest single ‘Pray’. With his last 2 records, ‘Wells Fargo‘ and ‘Fed Up‘ This joint is circulating the digital streaming world with authority & its due to its relatable message. I.G has a tendency to address haters directly & ‘Pray’ is another example of him embracing the confrontation. He’s letting lames go to make room for the growth, and his rise is inevitable. Not many artists are dropping consistently as I.G is, and that bull-dog like grind mentality is what will propel into fans of Hip-Hop everywhere.
Got no time for these hoes. Got no time for these lames. Spend my time on the road. Know thats how far I came
Its his authenticity that bleeds through his verses. I.G’s vocals give off a clear authoritative and confident persona that stays true to his person. With slick verses that fit hand in glove with illustrious piano chord progression, and an artist who word paints candidly- you have a sneaky hit on your hands. The scariest part is that he is capable of this on a weekly basis. Most artist drops slappers and then disappear, but I.G is consistent.
He is continously focused on dropping smash’s that will radiate through your speakers & marinate in your subconscious. His bars will truly have you keeping your head on a swivel & analyzing those around you. Who are the people that really care about your well being? These are the questions that will arise after listening to ‘Pray’, and we couldn’t be more grateful than to ponder over this introspectiveness. We don’t mean to get super deep on everybody, but a true lyricist will spark these intuitions. I.G is gifted with the pen & puts it on full display with ‘Pray’.
We were lucky enough to get the exclusive chance to interview I.G, and he wasn’t shy in answering our questions and letting the world in on what it takes to drop a song a week for 20 weeks straight. Check out our interview below:

INTERVIEW
The beautiful thing about music is that every artist has their own story of how they began. When did you start making music & why?
I started making music in 2015, the first song I ever made was with Iceberg in his parents’ basement actually. Always enjoyed music and thought it was a cool way to express yourself.
Many artists can’t even drop a song a month, so it’s impressive to say the least that you are dropping consistently week after week. What inspired you to do the 20SongsIn20Weeks challenge?
The 20 songs in 20 weeks’ idea came about a few weeks after I graduated from college. I knew I wanted to pursue my music career so I thought dropping a song a week would be a good way to jump into it. It’s 2020 so I thought 20 songs in 20 weeks would be cool.
It’s awesome that you are able to pump out tracks with this type of authority, but it must come at a cost. What is the hardest part of that challenge?
The hardest part is either choosing the song I want to release or sticking to a strict release rollout. I’m experimenting with different techniques and seeing which ones work the best
We can’t directly put our finger on about who you sound like, which is a good thing. Who are your musical inspirations?
I have a lot of inspirations in, from producers to artists to people not even in music. I would say musically I’m more inspired by the “old school” rappers and producers such as J Dilla, Common, Kanye, and Jay Z just to name a few.
What is your creative process like?
It really depends on the project I’m working on. Lately, I’ve been blessed with producers sending me beats so I just pick one.
