Jacob ZL | “Land on the Moon”
Jacob ZL channels into the love he feels for his other half in “Land on the Moon.” Overthinking about what they shared almost got the best of Jacob ZL. But he soon realizes that his sweetheart is for keeps. For what they share is everlasting. The piano-led instrumental carries zen elements, orchestrating a classical aura.
In the first verse, Jacob ZL recalls the moment he temporarily bid adieu. A decision he comes to regret as time passes.
He raps, “Don’t you remember?/Late nights in November/You told me you love me/I said I want this forever/I took off running.”
After, Jacob ZL speaks about her efforts, saying they ultimately changed his decision to leave. Following this, he declares, in summary, that it’s them against the world.
“I want this for life, baby/You so fuckin’ fine baby/I know this the moon/But let’s hit oceanside baby,” he spits.
Jacob ZL unveils that he’s given in too much to negative thoughts and commentary, causing his views on love to alter. But this time, he’s going with his gut.
“Lot of lies being told/Lot of souls being sold/Lotta losses I took/But I never could fold.“
Once the second verse seeps in, Jacob ZL states that he isn’t closing the chapter on their love story. ‘Till this day, it’s still being written. Then, the rapper expresses how his angel makes him feel.
“Girl, when I’m with you, it feels like a tidal wave,” he delivers.
Additionally, the “Killing Me Lately” star begins to wonder what life would be like if he pretended to be someone he isn’t.
“Wonder what happen if I never sleep/Wonder what happen if I started cappin’/And actin’ like who they just want me to be.”
He finishes off by saying that no one can take him away from his girl. Jacob ZL proclaims he’s going for what he wants and won’t let the hate stop him. The only ones who get his attention are supporters and people who truly love him.
“If I want it imma chase it/I notice the hatred,” he raps. “Walk in this bitch to a standing ovation.”
