Jam Young | “Ride With Me”
Queens, New York native, Jam Young questions the loyalty of another in his latest single, “Ride With Me.” But before the song starts, he makes sure to shoutout those who’ve been by his side since day one. And if this anonymous person is a ride or die, he promises to “rock for them like helter-skelter”.
As the song continues, Young taps into a retrospective state to express how focused he’s been over the years in means of making his dreams come true. In turn, Young has gained much success, yet it doesn’t necessarily mean he can trust just anyone. If anything, it means that Young is on his P’s and Q’s more than ever. Before “Ride With Me” closes, he goes in about his undying work ethic and how he has hittas. In the song’s chorus, Young showcases his auto-croon. One notable line goes, “Down for the Lyft or calling your own?/Branding the family via Corleone/Shed blood to shine like sierra leone/Was focused on the future like Ciara’s old home/Back when I had the cesear Young Jam would Rome/Flipping over life like a razor phone.” The beat carries a boom-bap feel and meshes a warm piano riff with open hi-hats.
