JazzEra | “Moody”, An Ode To Childhood Memories
JazzEra and her latest project, “Moody“ serve as an ode to the artist’s younger self. The six-song album expresses the artist’s several moods, allowing listeners to walk through JazzEra’s life and experience everything the artist feels.
The San Fernando Valley artist has been crafting one-of-a-kind songs since 2018. And “Moody” sees the artist reach a new level of creativity as JazzEra works through different emotions and experiences.
JazzEra is an affirmation to claim my time and plant my legacy. ‘Jazz’ being my name and ‘Era’ for the period of my existence and what I’m able to cultivate with my creative endeavors – JazzEra, regarding the origin of her stage name.
JazzEra’s project kicks off with the song “Go Awf,” a laidback, R&B-fueled song. The artist lays down airy vocals that land in your ears gently. Throughout the track, JazzEra lays down various flows that carry confident lyrics you can’t help but vibe to.
“Go Awf” is one of six compelling songs JazzEra drops in her album. Regarding the project’s inspiration, the artist attests that her “ever-changing moods” and ability to flip negatives to positives fueled the album.
The artist describes being called “moody” a lot as a child. She always felt her feelings deeply but had difficulty expressing those emotions. Therefore, this project was the ideal way to pay tribute to her younger self.
That said, throughout “Moody,” you see JazzEra dive into several different realms. At some points, she turns up the heat, rapping hard-hitting, self-assured bars over traditional hip-hop beats. And at other points, JazzEra taps into her more vulnerable side, singing softer lyrics over more gentle beats.
I’ve always felt things deeply and intensely but lacked the ability to express myself clearly. This project is an ode to the little moody girl that feels it all – JazzEra.
