Jordan Fletcher | ‘8:46 Freestyle’, George Floyd Tribute
One of the more powerful visuals Rap Fiesta is going to display for you is Jordan Fletcher’s new video titled, ‘8:46‘ which is the amount of time that Derek Chauvin pressed his knee’s against the neck of George Floyd in a cold blood murder that sparked the nation into a much needed, modern day revolution. With that backstory in mind, Jordan Fletcher sets the scene in an artistic manner with 2 minutes and 19 seconds of straight bars that paint painful images of what Black America goes through daily.
Despite the message being strong, and well needed- the track absolutely slaps from a musical standpoint. His bars are clear and concise, and he doesn’t mince words and is intentional with his delivery. The black and white visual adds more intent. He’s not flashing cars, or materialistic items on this joint. The only thing he wants to get across is his point. Jordan pays tribute to the recent black lives that were lost through careless injustice by the hands of police brutality and a political system that is designed to allow for such disgusting crimes to go undetected.
It’s the awareness that this track brings that bleeds its importance. This will wake you up from wherever you are and make you start paying attention. Jordan actually performed this track live at a protest in Oregon recently. How many rappers do you know doing that? My guess is not many. This dude is special and deserves your attention at the least.
We’re trying to get footage of that performance, but in the mean time you can help the cause by buying an 8:46 sweater from Jordan via DM on his Instagram. All proceeds will go directly to the family of George Flood and the BLM movement.
