Kasper Park | ‘WYW’, Delectably Addicting
Kasper Park recently dropped his dazzling new single ‘WYW’ in appetizing fashion. The title ‘WYW‘ is abbreviated fashionably to stand for ‘What You Want’. The record seems to be inspired over the trials and tribulations Kasper and his girlfriend have had to endure during the challenging pandemic that created a change in their relationship. The question of what Kasper wanted was begged by his inquisitive lover, and a short sweet sounding melody was born from these conditions.
Kaspers misty vocals spray across the feathery produced Johnny Juice instrumental in a delectable style. With a calculated cadence and bars that never overstep each other, he seems to know exactly what flows to equip for each pocket. In one moment he’s brandishing a soft and luscious melody, only to transfer over to a distorted version of the latter. Like a chef that sprinkles in seasonings carefully, Kasper does the same with his harmonies. You’ll constantly hear soul ripping doubles in the background of what feels like an angelic voice fleeting out of existence.

It’s hard to believe that this is all in effort from Kaspers girlfriend trying to pick the Philadelphia rappers fluttering thoughts. With his lyrics constantly inquiring about his wants, Kasper cleverly responds to his own questions with the rhetorical. Like most of us, he’s not sure what he wants. He plays upon this indecisiveness in a flavorful approach that keeps us waiting until Kasper reaches a decision, one that you’ll never know comes until you listen.
With his highly anticipated EP ‘ The Caged Mind ‘ releasing this summer, Rap Fiesta is confident you have a lot to look forward to. You’re lucky that June has finally arrived and you don’t have much to wait for, but until then the addicting ear candy of ‘WYW’ will have to hold you over in the mean time.
