Knotts The Nomad | ‘Space Suit Phobia’
Knotts The Nomad has made his mark with his latest project ‘Space Suit Phobia’. The 4 track EP is jam-packed with lucid flows and sharp lyricism that illuminate the current troubled state of the world. With much of Black America being treated disgracefully by law enforcement for peacefully protesting about their divine rights, Knotts The Nomad has entered the scene with powerful musical commentary. Rap Fiesta was fortunate to pick the lyricists brain with regards to why he chose music as a response, and his answer was simple-
“Sure, I could fight violence with violence. But the pen is my weapon. I fought the only way that resonates with me.”- Knotts The Nomad
The Dallas, Texas rapper is not only an activist within his own respect, these songs capture the height of the times musically. With his intro track ‘Space Suit Phobia’ he enters in on an M.F doom flow totes a flow so unorthodox you’ll be entertained as well as satisfied. His creativity blossoms in and out of the guitar string production while highlighting the death of George Floyd, touching on Coronavirus, and making listeners feel the pressure by stating how Knotts The Nomad doesn’t even feel safe in a spacesuit. If you can’t feel safe on space, where can you feel safe? These are the type of deep thinking pensive questions you’ll ask yourself as a result of this intro.
With a habit of vocalizing notable dates and times in the intro’s of his track, “R.I.P” is thought-provoking. He’s truly an artist that you shouldn’t passively listen to as his bars are best listened to intently. There are deep messages behind his carefully plucked cadences and slippery verses. His songs almost feel confrontational. Almost as if they will force you to address the injustices the country is facing, at the very least it’ll have you signing petitions while bumping your noggin.
We were curious as to how Knotts The Nomad got his name, and his answer was as unique as his tracks are. He told us,
As a teen, I would walk miles around my hometown of cedar hill armed with a staff and a bearded dragon. No real direction or destination. Just a journey. Truth be told we’re all nomadic. We shift and change ideals. We dip and dabble with different hobbies. No one is ever in a stagnant state. No one is the same as yesterday. Knotts simply came for the free form Locs I’ve been growing for a year and a half now
Knotts The Nomad should have his name changed to Knotts The Philospher because the man is equipped with wisdom. Within his songs, and outside of them- he has value to offer. You should do yourself a favor and partake in the movement now before it gets cool. Make sure to follow Knotts The Nomad on Instagram here,
