Lesolanhy | my world is ending at 3 in the morning [ALBUM REVIEW]
Lesolanhy is back on the scene with Rap Fiesta with the new release of his intricately formed album ‘my world is ending at 3 in the morning‘. The 7 track album dives deep into an unusual depth of Hip-Hop that can only be described as experimentally pretty, and delightfully surprising. The arsenal of flows that Lesolanhy unleashes is monstrous, at times sounding like a prime Kendrick Lamar from ‘Money Trees’ and in other moments resembling the addictive Starrah melodies on G-Eazy’s ‘Order More’. The 7 track album dives deep into racism, loyalty, and genuine topics that will further you as a human. On this project, the world is your trip and Lesolanhy is your tour guide.
“None of my n*ggas snitch, we don’t lie. Take this 9, throw it in the river. Don’t be mesmerized. Fantasize in these waves crash, buggy.
Right from the get go, his intro track ‘runaway from me ‘ will give you chills. Very Kanye-esque, drawing inspiration from the Yeezus playbook of distorted frequencies, but then so woefully transitions into a lullaby of smooth, sweet vocals that arise from the voice of an evasive child. And you get this feeling from just the first track. With a very LoFi feel, he enters ‘moonroveryabish’ with an unorthodox flow that jumps feverishly into a banging melody of “B*tch we high, smoking on that lye. Don’t you f*cking lie, testify oh no we cant ride” and it’s contagiously catchy. At moments during this bounce he touches on a Pouya flow that makes you wonder how Lesololanhy is even capable of singing something so delicate, and in less than a moments notice transition into ravenous. Undisputedly, this might be our favorite track off of the whole project because of its versatility and smoothed out feel.
On ‘Sky High’ his genderless voice dives into peak energy. His ethereal vocal surrounds the tip tappy production with the utmost passion. It’s hard to pin point a comparison to Lesolanhny, and it might be because his voice & style are so unique. On each sequential track he channels in a different personality and executes it perfectly. He’s the Denzel of the rap game with his ability to implement different vibes in each passing track. Overall, we were thoroughly pleased with this listen from front to back, and it’s no question you will be too.
