Lil Worm throws down a hyper-pop-infused heater that you’ll come to know as “Want Me Back.” The Syracuse, New York, rapper intricately blends emo-rap, hyper-pop, and trap to create a memorable song for anyone who listens.
Lil Worm started making music as a hobby when he was 16. Back then, the rapper’s brother would craft beats, and Lil Worm threw down some vocals. To start, Lil Worm was simply “messing around,” as he put it, when it came to making music. But after some time, the artist recognized his potential when rapping over his brother’s beats.
That said, Lil Worm’s brother, XVIISOCOLD, still produces all the unique rhythms he uses. Not only is this convenient for the rapper, but it also serves as a form of motivation to continue improving his craft.

Speaking of the rhythm featured in “Want Me Back,” it’s one that sticks with you long after the three-minute song has run its course. From the jump, electronic elements give the track its hyper-pop feel. After a few moments of building your anticipation, a commanding bass bumps through the speakers.
As “Want Me Back” continues, the rhythm layers more one-of-a-kind elements that work beautifully together. Overall, the beat contains a little bop to it, making something in your body want to move. But there’s also a darker energy woven into the rhythm, which Lil Worm plays on all too well.
