LoKii AD | ‘In Stone’ Album Puts Stone Mountain On The Radar
Soulful melodies and an imagery that takes you into the musical landscape of better times is exactly the description of LoKii AD’s latest album. Cleverly titled ‘In Stone‘, the artist hails from Stone Mountain, Georgia and plays upon the naming of his birth place in conjunction with the feeling that his success is written in stone. Rap Fiesta loves an artist that bets on themselves, and LoKii AD is doing exactly that. We don’t know what’s more impressive, the fact that LoKii AD only has 1 feature on the entire 15 track album, or the fact that he wrote, produced, and engineered the entire album himself. Truly the talents of a one man army.

What makes this project jump out is diversity between each song in sequence. Right from the prelude track ‘I’m Ready’, you get a soft piano vibe into a reverse melody that takes you in a time warp of conscious thought. And the song didn’t even start yet. Then you get woken up by a beautiful evasive voice from LoKii AD that feels fleeting in a distant time lapse. Just within the first minute he moves from the ever escaping transgression into a semi-sped up flow masked by a low octave that keeps you engaged. Immediately after is ‘Blu.’. That is an entirely different vibe. With a more dicey cadence, he leads you into unpredictable territory of luscious melodies and tasteful auras. You would think you were entering a different universe, but LoKii AD ties it all together by bringing back his lyrical content to what humans can relate to best. You guessed it, the feeling of blue hundreds AKA Benjamin Franklins.
Another favorite off the hit packed project is ‘Round 12′. With a clear and concise vocal that is reminiscent of 6LACK, LoKii AD dives into his own unique signature style. This joint in particular is parsed with metaphors of going rounds with his female counterpart in boxing fashion. He hits silky harmonies in the midst with a feeling of exuberant love. There is much to enjoy with a record like this, and especially if you are trying to make a subtle play at a female friend. Sensual vibes and passionate playfulness are in the air with this record.
If you are looking for an album to bump front to back while hovering over some Sauvignon Blanc in front of the bonfire, this is a sure fire pick. Even if you’re just looking for the comforting feeling of a midnight drive and need the presence of beautiful vocals to accompany you on the journey, you can’t go wrong with this delicate album. Better yet, LoKii AD plans on using the proceeds of his success to make real change in the world. Once Lokii AD sets his sights on it, it’s his for the taking.
