LU$T‘s new album, LUST IS PAIN takes a personal look at the rapper’s charm, love life, self-growth, and money-oriented mindset. Furthermore, he puts the opps on blast, instigating violence if they get to that point.
From the 23 tracks, music enthusiasts will take note of his quick-witted punchlines, flux-like cadences, and unrestrained lyricism. The musician’s keen producing skills are also amplified in most tracks. Speaking of which, LUST IN PAIN centers on trap hip-hop and R&B elements. Songs like “Freaky” and “Anxiety” sample Gucci Mane’s “Freaky Girl” and Drake’s “Love All.”
Circling back to the themes found in LUST IS PAIN, the Denver hip-hop artist speaks about staying focused on his career’s longevity, keeping a small circle, and enjoying all that life has to offer. The LP takes admiration from his pseudonym. It features Trev Rich, Mizzy Raw, Young N Fly, and Jonoo.
LU$T has solely been a producer since 2016. He’s made beats in the studios with iconic rappers like Dizzy Wight and Slim 400. His inspiration comes from past experiences and relationships, moreso heartbreaks. His articulate wordplay enhanced tremendously while in the local rap battle scene.
LU$T is originally from New Jersey. Jay-Z, Nipsey Hussle, Fabolous, and Big Pun inspire him. Additionally, the emcee was drawn to beat-making after seeing the prowess Swizz Beatz, Timbaland, Just Blaze, Southside, and Zaytoven possessed. His music-creating process consists of freestyling his lyrics right after finishing the beat.
LUST IS PAIN is paired with an official music video to track fourteen, “WATCH YOUR MOUTH.” The trap hip-hop offering finds LU$T tapping into braggadocious bars that revolve around his way with the ladies. He also details his undying grind. The rapper wants respect and a huge amount of cash in his bank account.
