Manny Man | “Ride”, From Betrayed To Comeback King
Rapper Manny Man adds another heater to his portfolio with his newest track, “Ride.” The Baltimore, Maryland, producer, and rapper drew inspiration from his very own life and poured that emotion into his music. The result? A genuine, thought-provoking song we know as “Ride.”
In fact, Manny Man drew inspiration from his own life and linked his brother’s experiences into the track. Essentially, the rapper wanted to address the ups and downs of life honestly, connecting real emotions with raw lyrics. And trust us, you’ll undoubtedly be able to hear and feel all the emotion Manny Man used to create “Ride.”
What inspired the song was me taking bits and pieces from my own personal story of betrayal and linking them up with my brother’s story – Manny Man.
“Ride,” produced by Yung Coke, features a darker beat with hints of old-school rap thrown within it. That said, several juxtaposing elements in the rhythm come together to generate a lowkey vibe. To lighten things, a soft guitar melody and distant haunting vocal runs play in the backdrop. Then, to incorporate more of a typical hip-hop feel, “Ride” features a more delicate bass pattern and a series of hi-hats.
Overall, the rhythm produces a really lowkey energy that slowly relaxes you while simultaneously getting you in the feels. Of course, the beat plays a significant role in portraying the melancholy tones of the track. However, Manny Man is the deciding factor that elevates “Ride” to a different level.
One reason the beat featured in “Ride” is so compatible with Manny Man‘s cadence and overall musical style is the rapper’s history with Yung Coke. Both musicians are committed to continuously evolving their sound and have been working together for years. So, it’s no surprise the duo continues working together based on how hard “Ride” goes.
I wanted to talk about the pitfalls of taking a loss at first and then making a comeback – Manny Man.
Because “Ride” was created to display feelings of betrayal and the hurt that ties in with that, Manny Man knew he needed to put those emotions in his vocals. And he does just that and more. Carrying a similar tone as Jeezy, Manny Man delivers each bar in an aggressive manner that’ll light your soul on fire.
Each word Manny Man raps is enunciated and filled with a passion you just have to hear to entirely understand. What’s more, the Baltimore rapper snaps off the end of each bar, only adding to the dramatic effect his verses have. Still, Manny Man proves rapping isn’t his only talent on “Ride.”
That said, the hook featured in “Ride” allows Manny Man to showcase his vocal capabilities. In the chorus, a series of overlapping auto-tuned vocal runs cascade through the speakers. Not only does this element add more texture to “Ride,” but it also allows the listener to absorb all of Manny Man‘s bars.
At Rap Fiesta, we won’t be surprised when “Ride” pops off and generates tens of thousands of streams. In fact, Manny Man isn’t new to successful songs, noticed by the 40K plus streams on tracks like “On The Grind” and “She in Love With the Money.” So, make sure you follow Manny Man on Instagram to know exactly when his next project drops.
In the meantime, go catch a vibe with the song “Ride,” now available on all your favorite streaming platforms!
