Rap Fiesta is proud to present you with a tri-state area heater. Marsalis Davis out of Passaic, New Jersey recently released his highly anticipated track ‘NVRLAND’ featuring Jordan Mizael this past April. Unafraid of discussing police brutality & misconduct, Marsalis is using his platform to highlight these injustices in a beautiful mellifluous piece. It’s these type of artists that begin the change to a greater good by being unafraid to speak. With that being said, besides the purity of content in his music, it is absolutely an igniting tune as well.
You can’t help but feel a pure Kanye Influence on this. From the very beginning, the distorted auto-tuned vocals captivate you. Brandishing a page out of ‘Blood On the Leaves’ 2013 Kanye. This is pure deception, Marsalis is leading you in one direction, then quickly diverts attention to a quick witted & introspective verse, completely unexpected.
The roller coaster doesn’t stop here. Each aspect of this track provides a different feel with each passing segment. The chorus launches back into full throttle, with raw emotion & melodic poise. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, the assist Marsalis gets from Jordan Mizaelon gives this ballad an added push. His concentrated verse contrasted beautifully with Marsaslis’s heaven vocals slithering into your subconscious. It’s truly a track you can’t help but to internalize.
