MIGS718 | “Wake Up”
MIGS718 has proven time and time again that he’s a musician who can architect an aura.
Comprising vivacious deliveries and clever rhyme schemes, the New York music honcho draws fans in with his engagement and by keeping it 100. Moreover, sugarcoating isn’t his forte. MIGS718 will express the results that come with hard work and dedication. He also doesn’t shy away from putting opps in their place.
The “Snapchat” star drives home the narrative of keeping your eyes on the prize. And that’s precisely what his newest song, “Wake Up,” elaborates on.
“Wake Up” is a drill offering amplified by a beautiful Spanish guitar. The lyrical context finds MIGS718 pushing others to stop sleeping on their potential. To promote the record, he linked up with Spidercuz, and they showed off their best dance moves.
Not only does MIGS718 metaphorically express that meeting your goals is essential, but he also speaks about his success. All of his accolades stem from staying dedicated to the grind. In the beginning, he raps about his music being played across the nation, exclusive ice, and drip. Then, the artist throws warning bars at the opps who are praying for his downfall.
He raps, “All of these bitches is basic/These haters mad that I’m amazin/Two door homie that’s what I’m racing/Mask up like it’s Freddie and Jason.”
Elsewhere, he lists other ways that opps will be dealt with. In other words, nothing or no one can throw him off balance. He’s only going to “walk around gettin’ that profit.”
He raps, sliding in an entendre and witty punchline
“I’m a boss, so I take I don’t need a blessing/Tryna give em a Caesar/Ain’t taking dressing/F*ck all the enemies.”
MIGS718’s most significant career highlight was performing in front of 5K people at Times Square. Beforehand, he did shows with LTC, and they ended up putting him onstage for a fashion show/concert in November. He also received the Hip-hop Artist Of The Year title.
Next year, expect to see him on stage as the leading performer at SXSW 2022. This moment, in particular, is surreal because he went from watching the event to being a part of it.
In terms of his routine before performing, MIGS718 doesn’t have one. So instead, he makes sure to shake the room.
The concept for “Snapchat” derived from musicians snitching on themselves via their records. He wanted to follow the same idea but, instead, didn’t give too much intel away. “Snapchat” also serves as a record to dance to. His favorite scene from the music video was when he was on top of a street sign. One line that he enjoys from his song is “I sip rum/Don’t pass me no vodka.”
In “Wake Up,” MIGS718 tells people to stop putting him on snooze. He’s here to wake up the world one song at a time.
In the future, expect MIGS718 to potentially collab with artists like Don Tolliver. He also will be dropping more content, visuals, and attending shows. The word is, MIGS718 is throwing his own event soon as well.
