Monte-G | “Music Is Therapy,” An Artistic Journey
Monte-G is a rising artist making his way onto Rap Fiesta‘s scene through his latest album, “Music Is Therapy.” The eight-song project is Monte-G’s way to express his artistic feelings and personal journey as an artist over the past six years. From start to finish, Monte-G takes you on an unapologetically honest review of his life journey.
For example, Monte-G opens up “Music Is Therapy” with three songs reflecting on moments when he dealt with heartbreak and frustration. “CALL ME,” “OPEN BOOK,” and “RUNNING BACK” observe Monte-G welcoming listeners into his life and how he finds acceptance when things are challenging. Each song features a lowkey beat and expressive bars delivered by the talented rapper.
After these tracks, Monte-G moves on to open up about the struggles he overcame while trying to balance his personal life and career as an artist. “SAFE” and “LOOKING BACK” both do an incredible job of bringing the listener into Monte-G’s world.
More specifically, the track “SAFE” is a whole vibe you don’t wanna skip out on. The track, produced by D’artist, opens up with a gradually moving rhythm featuring a wavy bass line and a beautiful blend of other musical elements.
Monte-G crafted the track with his friends and featured artists Ysg.Kai and KAYRXN. The trio takes turns dropping smooth-moving bars over the laidback rhythm. Additionally, a catchy chorus, hypnotizing vocal runs, and top-notch vocal edits allow “SAFE” to immediately catch your ears’ attention.
‘Music Is Therapy’ is a project centered around the artistic feelings and pure artistry that I’ve had the chance to be a part of over the past six years that I’ve been an artist, Monte-G.
Monte-G wraps up his latest album by discussing life-altering personal experiences and gratitude. The songs “MY BROTHERS KEEPER” and “ANTI SOCIAL” observe the rapper diving into complex emotional struggles. Although these topics were undoubtedly challenging for Monte-G to bring up, he uses his craft to work through these feelings.
I fully express how grateful I am to be surrounded by such amazing artists and friends and really appreciate the help/support they gave me during these six years, Monte-G, regarding the meaning behind ‘BETTER YOU THAN ME.”
The Baltimore artist does an impeccable job taking his listener through an in-depth journey of his life. What’s most impressive is the fact that Monte-G doesn’t shy away from getting emotionally vulnerable while laying down fire bars.
Make sure you give Monte-G a follow on Instagram, so you’re one of the first to know when new projects get added to the rapper’s discography. That said, the rapper intends to promote his latest album and garner more media buzz.
Also, Monte-G intends to release a deluxe version of “Music Is Therapy,” so you’ll want to stay tuned for that! The deluxe version intends to “bridge the gap” between Monte-G’s artistic and creative sides. The second release will also serve as a timeline of his growth and experience as an artist.
