Nick Jorgenson | Influencer Works To Better Independent Artistry
Rap Fiesta is excited to introduce hip-hop influencer, Nick Jorgenson. What is a music influencer you may ask? Well, we define it as an individual who possesses supreme knowledge of the music industry, in addition to having developed a powerful network. In addition to the knowledge and skill he gained over the years, the self-made Arizona hip-hop tastemaker is also the manager for a ‘major’ artist, named Oren Major (no pun intended). An artist who he helped reach 5 million streams on Spotify, and gain a cult like following of over 100,000 monthly listeners which is no easy feat. In addition to his managerial skills, he runs a Spotify playlist with over 30k+ followers titled ‘Lifting Heavy Ass Weights‘ that he built from the ground up. This is somebody who taught himself the game independently, all while selflessly donating his knowledge to a sea of independent artists.
Before we get into some of the beautiful sacrifices he performs for the hip-hop community, let me paint the picture of the dedication he commits for his artist. The man mortgaged a house and built an in-house studio (incredible studio if i may add), and I’m not taking about setting up a mic and a pop filter. He laid down flooring, installed sound-proof insulation, and glued base-boards all with his bear hands, so his artist could have 24/7 access to industry quality level recording. That is just unheard of. He also handles every single release of his artist, and built (and designed) his artists website. He throws listening parties for his artist. He secures deals, bookings, and collaborations for his artist. May I add Oren Major just landed a track with Raekwon, one of the most notable Wu-Tang Clan members? I hope that paints the picture for the type of manager, and human Nick is. He is truly the epitome of what every single artist could desire in a manager.
So, aside from being an awesome manager, how does he help other independent artists other than Oren Major? Well, he literally wrote a detailed guide on how to get your music into Spotify playlists, which is one of the most difficult issues that independent artists struggle with. The information in that guide is a tool that can potentially blow an artist up, and he gives that away for free. You can find that guide here. In addition to getting artists playlisted, he genuinely answers every single question that comes his way. From producers asking how they can get their beats used by rappers, to breaking down split sheets, and royalties. He breaks down complex topics on his stories regularly and shares his conversations for the pure purpose of helping those who may benefit from them. Want to know how to register your music with agencies like BMI or ASCAP? Check his page. Want to figure out intricate ways to contact playlisters? Check his page. Want to be genuinely entertained and learn how a true manager works? Check his page. There is an infinite amount of knowledge to be sourced from this industry player, and you won’t find an influencer who is as willing to share valuable information as willingly as him. Nick is also an artist by the name of Keali’i, and has his 3rd single dropping on March 1st.
